I heard the R wont be as powerful as they wanted 720hpish because of longevity concerns??? Thats what i read a while ago. Really Ford needs the 7.3 in there or that alum 6.8 that likely will never be made. My guess is the R will lose the drag race, but will be better of road. And it will be ridiculously expensive. Just because they can. At 5 dollar a gal and ridiculous markups sadly it will be out of reach for most.

change the gears in the diffs if you plan to keep running 35" tires ( you may only have 3.31 or 3.55 stock) . Then get a trans tune! there are guys racing those 10 speeds autos and they are monsters with the right tune. Then you will take that TRX!!

Hey Mike, try launching in manual as soon as you launch put it in drive. I have an f150 with a 10 speed. I do Sport mode, hold traction button for 5 seconds to turn off advance track off completely, 4 high and launch in Manual, put in Drive as you launch.

Change your rear gear to match the trx i.e. a 4:10 gear set. Its the gearing bro. Also your trans tune could be better. When tuned right the 10 speeds are great.

The TRX is built from the ground up to be a performance truck. The F-150 is just a normal F-150 with a supercharger thrown on it. Also, the trx definitely makes more torque than the F150. Supercharged 5.0's usually make somewhere around 600 torque and it's not down low like the TRX.

Look in to Tuning by Oz. They are known for tuning stock and blown 5.0s. Their tunes are also known for improving the shifting of the 10 speeds

It’s your gear ratio you have 3.31 and trx have 3.55s big difference in the hit

Trx was also on 37s, so the actual gear ratio is very similar. 5% difference in tire size on the ram, so a 5% reduction in final drive is like 3.37:1. Not that big of a difference. The f150 just suffers from a lack of trans tuning. Get a real engine and Trans tune instead of the canned Whipple tune, it'll wake up. Then, he might be able to keep up with a stock trx on 35s.

You need to reach out to "boosted F150". Its also a Whipple charged 5.0. He has that truck dialed in something fierce. It's his daily driver and hes running 10's in it. He does 4 wheel drive launches for traction and then turns it off it looks like halfway down the track. I think 🤔

Little trick, stab the gas to the floor dont hold it, just tap it to the floor, the Trans will down shift to the lowest gear for the speed, and you will be ready to roll

Yea only difference in Sam's F150 from Backroads and Mike's is Sam has 33 tires and I believe 3.73 gears. But definitely get with Sam and Brad. Also with it throwing a throttle body code could be a big problem too. He needs to let Mitchell at TC Customs know about that code.

Ford and GM co-developed that 10 speed in the f-150. Not sure if it’s the same one in the GM trucks .

It was a joint venture as in Ford developed the 10 speed and GM gave Ford use of it's 9 speed fwd auto, which Ford didn't like and reconfigured it to 8 speed and it is used in the Edge Escape, Maverick and Bronco Sport. I have heard that GM programming might be better on the 10 speed, as there has been talked of rough shifting in some Fords, but it does give good performance and fuel economy.
