The no AC in the truck reminded me of living in SE Arizona. Grew up in Kissimmee/StCloud, joined the Army in early 2001. Anyway, around 2005ish I ended up being stationed at Ft Huachuca for training(Sierra Vista/ about an 1.5 SE from Tucson.) right on the border(Nogales). Beautiful place, so different than Central Florida, loved it. But..... My Wife(Kissimmee/StCloud) at the time, and brand new 6 month old daughter, we decide we're gonna live off post. Basehousing was like a 1.5 year wait, COLA wasn't bad.... so let's do it. We scrounge for anything we can realistically afford, I was an E4(about to get promoted;). Anyway, we look at half a dozen places... and finally settle on one. It's fine, clean, and livable... Adobe SW Indian vibe, close to Fry/main gate, we thought we killed it. Signed the lease and moved in, excited. It was in the winter, I was in training crazy busy. Eat, sleep, play with the baby, keep up with the wife, and work. Crazy schedule, training, and learning... like 6 days a week, whatever. ANYWAYS... months later, it starts to warm up, not Florida heat, but warm enough to kick on the AC. I'm sitting at home one day, go to turn on the AC....it's not central air, it's a swamp cooler. Lol... there is no air-conditioning. I had no idea, as a Florida boy, I just figured the place had central air. Wife at the time, same, we were both absolutely clueless.... both of us just figured....central air. Nope.

Man!!! I was hoping so bad that it was a 7.3, and it is, and its a manual!! That truck will get you anywhere and everywhere and if it dies you KNOW you can fix it on the side of the road. That's the best truck you could have chose other than an old 12v cummins. The great thing about the 7.3 leaking oil is that it won't run if it gets too low on oil. The HPOP has to be able to get oil, so if it's running you know you have oil.

First thing i did on my early 00 model f250 was the tank mods. Replaced the terrible pick up foot with a pex T ( yes pex can withstand fuel and oil ) and cut the vent tubes off so it holds more fuel. Boy do not miss the 1/4 tank issue.

JH buddy I definitely wish I would have none a little sooner so I could have time to rap up my 1969 Chevy K30 because I have yet to get it stuck for sure and over the years I have definitely been the one that all the school kids call when they get stuck on the mud roads for sure!! I’m running a set of 39” boggers Dana60 front and 14 bolt FF rear with all new Yukon 4.56 gears witch I wish I would have definitely went with a 4.88 or maybe a 5.13 gears but the motor definitely makes up for not low enough gears yet!! I’m also running both front and rear ARB air lockers a manual SM465 manual transmission with a 32 spline output shaft to a 203/205 setup and In front of the transmission I just got done building a 421 sbc that was putting out just shy of 700HP on the dyno!! It’s a full roller setup and forged setup with a Dart block and AFR aluminum heads!!! I’ve just been trying to find someone that could make me a set of headers that are a 1”7/8” inside tubing to help with getting some of the heat out of the inside!! Then I just needed to get the front clip all installed and she would definitely be ready to take the payday for sure!!! If anyone has a tig welder and nose how to build a set of headers I’d definitely be willing to pay someone to build me a set for my truck?? Let me no and get ahold of me please!!! Im in southern Iowa south of Des Moines Iowa and Wright off of I-35!!! I have spent 2000.00$ on off the shelf headers and not a one would fit and also most have been a smaller tube setup also witch will definitely restrict some HP and also not get enough heat out also!!! I definitely can’t wait to see what all goes down at the mud bog for sure!!! When I was in school I would always be going to the mud bogs around my area and a buddy of mine had his dad even build a couple mud pits in the back half of his junkyard that his dad ran at the time also!!! Plus just down the road from him there is another shop and his grandpa has a salvage yard and his dad also started a salvage yard when his dad was running his salvage yard at the same time so they have tones of salvage vehicles out back!! He his definitely a big dodge fan and they all have tons of mopar and dodge vehicles!!!
