@rR-xn8qo5 жыл бұрын
@@tatasusuh8955 Wow, alot of issues? 1. Rattling dashboard? Most cars have this "issue" they rattle and make noise and eventually we find the part that actually rattles and we fix it. 2. Hard to move doors? This can happen on any car if no preventive maintenance is done. 3. Clogged ac drain? Like on any other car. Blow into the drain hole and its unclogged, voila. 4. Brake master cylinder leak fine, this is a common issue but every car has its own issue, once this is fixed its gone for good. And its cheaaaappp. (oh and the airbag thing is a huge issue with alot of cars and all of those affected got replaced for free because those airbags actually killed people, so not an issue anymore)(and not just lexus) 5. Carbon buildup? How about injection cleaners? Seafoam? Its cheap. Or just blast the ports. This is not a major issue. Also you could just hit the gas a little harder and burn the carbon off. 6. Battery issues? Eh any battery will fail.... 7. Petrol engine issues? Wtf sparkplug failure? You have to change em on every car. And btw, denso iridium tips wont fail, ever. These are not issues. Its hard to come up with any list of actual issues for lexus. How about i pull out a major one for any VAG car (VW,AUDI,etc.) DSG failure? This literally KILLS your car. Dont worry about your passenger carpet getting a little wet because of a clogged ac, this is death for your car and will cost ALOT of money to fix. Oh and good luck finding a rusty gs300 2005->

Decent and sensible tips. Remember though, WD40 is not a lubricant, however much they try to sell it as such. You need something much more viscous for door hinges.
@Hawktied2 жыл бұрын
Be sure to add the rattling at cold start. Older engines have a VVT-i system related rattle that is not dangerous, but more of an annoyance when the engine is cold. It is due to a worn spring before oil pressure locks the gear in place. After warming up and starting the noise is not repeated. This applies to the 3,5 liter models including the Hybrid and Toyota Camry.
@Hawktied2 жыл бұрын
Also, the AVS shocks can be replaced with the standard shocks from the GS300 for example. New AVS shocks are around 500 €/each and are only available from the dealer. Standard shocks from KYB (OEM supplier) are around 100-130 €/each and purchasable in aftermarket stores. Changing the AVS shocks to standard does not turn on any error message/light nor affect the driving experience negatively. Sport-mode just does not stiffen the suspension any more.

I have a Lexus GS300 SE-L. 2006 car and it's fantastic in every way. Silent, comfortable, reliable and very fast! It also returns 43mpg on a motorway at 75mph in cruise and between 21 and 29mpg around town. (UK figures) I will not be changing my car for a very long time. Since I've owned it, I've changed the oil and filter every 3,000 miles, using fully synthetic oil only. Apart from that I've only spent a total of £500 on the car, including tyres; making it the cheapest to run car I've ever owned. You're right about the door hinges, I solved the issue with a light spray of WD40 - no more problems. These are arguably the best mid-size saloons in the world in my opinion

It seems the 2006 has transmission issues that them from a solenoid and computer management of the transmission. The computers surface mount components solder develop micro fracture over years from cooling and heating cycles. These micro fractures cause varying resistance and in turn the signal is compromised. You will notice harder shifting as it progresses. the 2006 gs300 I own is on it's second transmission. There is also a high pressure fuel regulator that goes out and can cost a lot more than it should. The dealerships will try to replace the entire fuel rail. Given the older age of a typical gs experiencing these issues. It'll more than likely break the brittle plastic of the injector when they remove them from the fuel rail. At $400 a pop, cost can go up quick. They will also try to sell you a new fuel rail. If you go online and dig around for more information. There is a service manual that details the proper procedure. It entails removing just the high pressure fuel sensor and machining the fuel rail on the car to seat the sensor better. The computer that causes the transmission issues can be sent of for repair found online. They will refurbish it and send it back. I'd suggest that if anyone start to notice the transmission doing this behavior.

I'm planning to purchase one. i have a question for Gs300 owners. how bad is fuel consumption on this car? i heard it's pretty bad and will cost quiet a lot of money on fuel.
@Canadian-hm4xm7 жыл бұрын
Gas consumption isn't terrible for a V6. The car calls for premium fuel though as well. If saving money on gas is an issue, I wouldn't go with a Lexus (6 cylinders and premium fuel)
@Easy2take6 жыл бұрын
I would say fuel consumption is reasonable for a v6. I get 18l/100km city (aggressive driving), and about 9.5l on highway when driving about 120-130 km/h (occasional acceleration to 170km/h when overtaking). You can reduce fuel consumption up to 12-13l in city if you drive it gently. Also I noticed that when outside temperature is low it get much higher consumption compared to when it's warm. Also remember this v6 requires premium petrol no less than 96octane, we don't have 96 petrol i our country so I use 98 octane premium gasoline. Also make sure you do a full inspection before you buy one, because you never know how previous owner maintained it. If it has a full service history you can actually buy a high mileage one. These engines live to 500k+ km if maintained regularly. Also make sure automatic transmission fluid had been changed at least every 90k km.

To be honest, all cars break down eventually and 160,000 miles is a big mileage for a car. I live in UK where cars depreciate really fast. I paid 4000 pounds for my car with 70000 miles on it (I guess the current value for the car is a little over 3000 pounds). I do not drive it as much as you do. If my car develop a serious problem I might just buy another car as it may not be economical to get it fixed.

@joshal-mimar20736 жыл бұрын
I bought one a week ago, I haven't paid anything for it even tho its rebuilt. But of course you gotta check the car. Well for Lexus I had an LS400 before the gs300 2006 AWD. The LS400 served me well (400k Km) and then I sold it lol. Here's an advice : Reliability -> Lexus is known for that. Sporty feel -> not as sport as other sport cars. My Gs 2006 AWD has 150K I can't tell if the Engine is On or off. it's so quite! The only downside I would say is for music you gotta buy a Bluetooth adapter to stream music from your phone. The stock Bluetooth is only for calling. I bought it for 5500 Canadian Dollars. Goodluck.
@mrbrazil19116 жыл бұрын
The 2006 GS300 engine is prone to carbon build up due to being direct infection. You can read more about it on the ClubLexus.com forum, but it's generally recommended to save yourself the headache and go for a GS350 which doesn't suffer from this issue.
