Very thorough video report there Ethan, covering a lot of the important points. Getting a Porsche Pro to check it out would be my number one recommendation, as he can go through everything, and getting the bike on a lift lets him see a lot of potential issues you simply cant see on such a low slung car. Best money you could ever spend towards your new investment and peace of mind of course.

Should have said get the car on a lift !! I am an avid Biker as well as a Cayman owner, so tend to be focused a lot on my two wheels, espc during this prolonged hot spell.

I mean, I don't even plan to buy a car, but I'm sitting here thinking, how have you just managed to make 2nd hand car dealing sexy...all the way from being like, a pejorative? Is it the fancy car? No. I had to think but I know what it is: Knowing your stuff that you don't get ripped off, means that the person that buys from you does not get ripped off either... and you never end up down the slippery slopes of shafting people and feeling like that's a good thing. ❤

Could you tell us which Porsche options you recommend getting and why? I'm looking at getting a 991.1 C2S or 4S and not sure which options to look for. (i.e. PASM, SC...) Thanks
@EthanFromLondon7 жыл бұрын
Sorry just saw this so I am not sure if its too late. I would recommend going for a C4S as they will have so many extra options already. You can't really look for options in a second hand car and this should NOT be the focus of your search. Look for mileage, history, ownership records etc etc. Options are pointless if the car has not been well cared for. If you have any doubt walk away !!! Don't fall in love with the car or you will hate it later on.

Hi Ethan, what Porsche do you recommend 991 C4S or mk 2 C4S? Thanks
@EthanFromLondon2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend a 997.2 C4S

@@EthanFromLondon interesting you say that they have increased a lot in price. It’s abit out dated for me and now I’ve had a 997 C4S mk1 ten years ago. So looking for another 991 but maybe the mk2 as not owned that. Do you think that’s a good buy? Congratulations on the RR btw will you also wrap it?

Hi Ethan, I'm a current owner of a 2002 996 with 95k miles on it. I'm thinking about upgrading to a 987s. I'm not sure it's worth 15k us dollars to make this trade. I currently live my car, but after 15yrs of driving it, I think I want something new. Thoughts?
@EthanFromLondon7 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, You currently drive a 911 and are thinking of moving to a Boxster. They are completely different cars and feel different to drive, plus you lose the tiny back seats. If you are still ok to go ahead with it then there is no harm is switching as the 987S is an amazing car. However you have owned your car for 15 years and know it inside out so make sure you have the other car checked properly or buy it from a dealer with a warranty so you get peace of mind. This is a hard one to advise on since you are going from a 911 to a Boxster. If you were going from a 996 to a 997 I would be able to tell you the pros and cons and the differences.

Ethan, I'm not loaded but got some pension money from work and would love to own a porsche Carrera for six months, the top I go to is £30k, but then want to get as much back as possible, is this doable or am I living in a dream world, I'm 61 btw. Any advice would be appreciated.
@EthanFromLondon2 жыл бұрын
For that price you won’t get a decent car and you will end up spending at least 10,000 on top to fix it. Buy a Boxster instead and you will have more fun
