@ so far I’m averaging 34.8 mpg over 1200 miles

I'm on the fence of getting either a GTI or R, however i just wanna know if there is a significant difference in "Ride Quality”? Sure, both are sport hatchbacks, but which will have the better ride quality as it'll be my daily driver. Thanks

I bought a GTI MK8 2024 Autobahn last year and I've been having a blast since. At first, we all had to deal with the clumsy infotainment and lack of backlights. But honestly guys, these were not a deal breaker at all. Haptics buttons are not half bad as poeple make it seem to be. In a year, i have maybe turned on the heated steering wheel ONCE while doing a turn and i never had any issues likes this whatsoever. Do i agree that this isn't a flawless car? Yes of course. But God damn i've been having the time on my life since i got it. Not disappointed in not getting a R instead, i thought a GTI would be the perfect daily driver and i was right. It feels great to drive, it's nice to look at it and take care of it. Poeple will look at your GTI and R. I know these are Golf's and we're not near the high-class level like Audi's and BMW's, but i swear, poeple been admiring this car and for the first time, other drivers clearly show their intention to have fun with their own car against my GTI when i'm at street lights. Its a nice car. Not even talking about the MK8.5 (Screen too big and i prefer the version of my front numper) but thats my only complains. I had a Jetta TSI 2017 1.4 before my GTI. This is day and night and even tho the price is vbery high and sometimes ridiculous, i would recommand every curious driver to at least have a try in one of these cars. Such a joy to ride.

Converting over to EV is just sad. Regardless of straight line performance that EVs provide, you just lose so much of the visceral aspects of driving without the sound. The sound of a nicely tuned engine is just music to the ears… grin inducing.

and tuning them, upgrading exhausts and engine components, engine conversions etc etc cant really do nothing to an EV to make it individual to the rest, such a stale prospect for the future imagine an all EV car show, what would be the point, they would all be exactly the same lol
