Good choice! The Ford Ranger base model is really the best value for money. I ended up with larger tires eventually and chucking the steel rims was an exceptionally satisfying experience.

Hey buddy, just noticed a simple error on the way you start the car. The Proper way of doing it is 1. Insert the Key: Insert the key into the ignition slot. 2.Turn the key to the "On" or "Run" position. This position is one step before the engine starts. At this point, the dashboard lights should illuminate, and you might hear some sounds as the fuel pump primes the system. Wait a Few Seconds (Optional but Recommended): 3. Press the brakes then Turn the key to the "Start" position and hold it there. The engine should crank and start. 4. Release the key as soon as the engine starts, and it will return to the "On" position automatically. Check the Dashboard: Ensure all warning lights turn off once the engine is running. Change oil every 5k not 7k not 10k. Change fuel filter every change oil as well. Check the oil pump and timing belt often. Avoid your electronic power steering wheel to be flooded or submerge in water often. Change the fluids often.

It's different for the new gen Fords nowadays, your oil life % is displayed in the dashboard itself. Depending on how you use the truck, you can get around 10k Kms before an oil change.

@@owenmarshall78 yeah mate, if you are using the truck for personal or leisure then I'm certain you can get more out of the usual oil life %. But if you use it for business or typical workhorse stuff then it's best you consult your local Ford or check the owners manual for reference. I'm considering the XL 4x4 next year when I come home to Philippines. Here in Australia, almost everyone drives a Ute and it's mostly Hilux or Ranger nowadays.

Mate, congratulations on your Ranger XL. Mine is 2023 XL, we picked it up in Malate, Manila and drove all the way to CDO. We were at the Malate Ford dealership at about 8am, Friday, but the car was released Friday noon and we arrived in CDO at about 6pm Sunday. The 4x4 of XL is very capable. @@owenmarshall78 My brother's farm at Libona, Bukidnon passes through several Del Monte pineapple plantations and the clay is very sticky. And the trails gets damage during the harvest season because Del Monte's harvesters are huge, bigger than your typical cranes, with caterpilar type tracks and they really dig on the muddy soil creating huge holes that makes your 4x4 trucks goes sideways like almost 90 degrees.
