Probably the best looking Alfa from its generation (with the exception of the impractical and limited Brera). Well done on bringing it back to an excellent state.

Looks great, my Ti looks exactly the same but it's the 1750 Tbi engine, same M32 box which seems fine, so going to stick good oil in it and hope for the best, replaced the bush on the end of the gear cable for a metal one which has made the change a lot better. Went for the Tbi as i couldn't live with a diesel, the 2.2 petrol motor has cam chain issues (as does the 3.2 V6), had to dig deep for the Tbi though as they are scarce, paid £5600 for it (seller originally wanted 7K lol), will be keeping it a while though.

Absolutely brilliant car...apart from the fact it's currently sat at my local garage due to the rear drivers side suspension collapsing last night. All in tho its a cracking motor (yes, I am the person who bought this car)

Nice car. I bought a 2007 black 1.9 159 Lusso with tan leather three and a half years ago with 124,000 miles on the clock for a grand as I loved the look of it. It had two broken springs and the engine was spluttering (Clogged EGR). He couldn’t be arsed with it anymore. Luckily the previous owner had new bearings fitted as it had a whine but I drained it anyway and overfilled it by 500 ml with Fuchs Titan Sinto Fluid75w 80. The Getrag M32 (Nm 320 torque) gearbox is notorious for oil starvation to 5th & 6th gear bearings causing them to fail. There is an upgraded end plate with larger oil channels and larger bearings available. The most common preventive route is to overfill the gearbox by 500ml to increase oil flow. The springs sit on a cup on the dampener which eventually rusts and collapse as these cars are getting old now. I managed to find four new Sachs dampeners on Amazon for half price due to damaged packaging and four KYB springs on eBay and fitted them on my driveway. De-swirled the inlet manifold (Pig of a job!) and blanked the EGR. I’ve put 35,000 miles on it and it’s still running sweet. Like any car, just keep it maintained and you’ll get out what you put into it. 👌🏻

The gear box oil should be changed every 35k miles but non 1 does it best way to avoid expenditure.

seems great for 1000 pounds, i bought my 159 sw with basic interior and 1.9jtdm 16v engine for 1400€ and its been a great car, ive put 10k km on it since i bought it in july so its at almost 340k km and hasnt had any big issues other than a broken cv axle and turbo starting to wear out and ofc some rust that ive had to fix on the sills. other than that its one of the best cars ive driven kinda like my brothers 147 2.0 selespeed but bigger and feels more powerful with all that low end torque
