If you haven’t already, you should totally look into the trigger warnings on a little life. Just in case, because I’ve heard it’s been a LOT of some people. I’m excited to read it too, but also a little scared hahaha

@@user-qu8zs7vs1x honestly I was left shaking. My boyfriend was so confused how a book could do so much damage. People come over and see it on my shelf and I tell them not to read it. Don’t. I think it actually takes something from you, especially if you can relate to it.
@user-qu8zs7vs1x3 жыл бұрын
@@kianadoescod6402 exactly. And I keep seeing all these KZbinrs promoting it or giving it exposure and then saying "oh, don't read it". Like, dude, then don't make a reading vlog that's gonna be watched by thousands of people who will likely want to emulate you.

"i thought it was about the life of a middle-aged man" imagine diving into "a little life" thinking that without reading the synopsis JDKSADKSAJLK. her body and other parties had gorgeous writing! it makes me want to see full-length novels from the author.

I’m so excited for The Bronzed Beasts! I read the series after seeing you talk about it; as an autistic person, Zofia is one of the first autistic characters I’ve read that’s in a story that’s not centered around her autism and she means so much to me!

I am so glad you bought 'Her Body and Other Parties' because that book is BEAUTIFULLY written. You will definitely love the writing! Also, when you read it, you will find so many aspects in this book that hold significance but you can't figure out how to interpret them and I think that's the most interesting part. You have to take your time interpreting them. The genre and form of each story vary but the themes discussed are so important!

My copy of Bronzed Beasts comes Fri and I'm so hyped. I want Iron Widow. I started Lobizona as an audio and I had to stop because I want to own it and read it physically. I need this series! I also want to read How We Fall Apart. I can't wait, my loan for Her Party and Other Body parts comes in a couple weeks. I really like Moreno-Garcia. I just bought Velvet Was The Night. I still need to read a Grady Hendrix.

Allies sounds like a good book and I don’t want anybody to feel unheard for feelings of racial disphoria but transracial shouldn’t be a thing. I can understand transgender, but Rachel Dolezal tanning her skin and getting a perm doesn’t change the fact that her DNA is European. Also, it’s very frustrating to have to deal with cultural appropriation and blackfishing and then also let white people own our culture because they “feel black”. You can’t feel like a race. Nobody is monolithic and performing blackness is perpetuating stereotypes. Race is only halfway a social construct. The other half is heritage and biology. I know our generation wants to accept everybody, but the transracial thing is getting out of hand.
@ashantihayes43213 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with everything you said. I think when she brought up transracial she meant transracial adoption (like a white family adopting a black child). I've been seeing a lot of kids who were adopted by white families coming out saying how the cultural and racial differences between them and their parents were really hard for them. I might be completely wrong. Correct me if I am.
@thisstoryaintover3 жыл бұрын
Hi yes, when I said transracial I was talking about an author in the anthology, Eric Smith, who talks about being a transracial adoptee, i.e. someone adopted by parents who are of a different race than him.
