Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, but the fun thing is that as a parent you get to relive the experience and share it with your kids. My daughter loves Pokemon and has a little patience for Yu-Gi-Oh. It’s what got me back into collecting and into making KZbin videos. Favorite gen for me is 4. Pokemon platinum and Heart Gold/Soul Silver on the DS has me replaying them each at least 4 times a year.

Pokemon Crystal is undoubtedly my favourite Gen 2 game, Lotus. Believe me, I know what you mean about that itch that can only satisfy you on an emotional level. Over the years I've had a ton of things that my family's had to get rid of or were just misplaced in an unfortunate accident and I 100% would just love to replace it all. I gave my Father the old XBOX back along with all the games we had for it like X2: Wolverine's Revenge, the Spider-Man movie games, the Splinter Cell games... On my own shelves I've been collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and I've even been collecting the LOB packs just for that feeling of collecting them from back when they were just coming out. What I've learned is that packs probably aren't the best use of someone's money, but the point of it though is that it just scratches that itch... It makes the me who lost all those things happy and I'm sure it would have made the me who only had 1 or 2 of those things at a time very happy as well. I still to this day will plug in the Shenron plug 'n play (I used to just call them TV games) and spend hours just playing the pinball game. Much love, man. Keep on collecting.

Id love to see more videos like this from you! As I grew older, I started to keep more and more of my old games, even if I dont play them anymore. They got emotional value that I learned to cherish with time. I might start looking for old GBA and PS2 games/consoles sometimes, still have my GameCube/PS3 and some games from these gen

I love your haul videos cause me and you are similar in the way you were describing how you try to get stuff you couldn’t have as a kid/ teenager. Some of the things (particularly clothes) that I have now are shit that I used to really want but I couldn’t afford, even if the popularity’s gone down, it doesn’t matter to me cause it’s more of an emotional connection. This past year I've been really into collecting my old things, and things I never got as a kid too. It also doubled up as a way to preserve physical media, which I feel is really important to do in an age where everything has gotten so digital. My start to gaming was like the same as yours but so different at the same time lol. First console my dad gave to me was a Dreamcast, and I played the hell out of Soulcalibur on it. Soul Silver has to be my favourite Pokemon game of all time. It's mad expensive but I need to get myself a copy again sometime

Usually when someone refers to another as a materialistic person they have a vested interest in expensive things. Materialistic people want luxury goods and expensive brands. Their lives are centered on the cost and exclusivity of these items and being part of the few that own it.

I don't let old games go. I grew up playing DQMJ(dragon quest monster joker series). I lost it as a kid and bought a 2nd copy while I was in high school. That was stolen out of my locker, so I went and bought a 3rd copy of the game. I had a CD and my cat broke it. I went back to the store that sold it to me years ago. They had since stopped selling CDs and were just a pure comic book store at that point. After I told them my story and how I bought it from them when my local mall was still standing, they immediately said they'd order a replacement if I would still pay the asking price on Ebay. So yeah, I got that back, and they covered the shipping.

Dude, I'm still buying beyblades, I just bought a fucking sword. I got 3 Tvs in my room. One for old video games, one for Cable TV, and a 3rd for gaming. I also got myself a wii at Goodwill just to replace my original wii so I can play gamecube games on it. 2 years ago, on Christmas, I got my mother a Sega genesis. I grew up hearing the story of how it was stolen by my mother's roommates, so that was the most satisfying gift I've ever given. I also buy old movies and cartoon series. I went on a fishing trip with my friend and his father, and we saw a Goodwill, and I went in and came out with a VCR. So I finished the deep sea trip with 2 fish and a VCR🤣

Pokemon Ranger games and Mysterdy Dungeon are also games I recommend playing. (Mystery Dungeon had codes you coud use for specific Dungeon when you beat the game) They were bith alot of fun

Favorite Pokemon gen is EASILY gen 3, with Emerald as my favorite. The variety of Pokemon in Hoenn, and even the region itself is the peak of Pokemon to me. Gen 4 is a close second with Platinum. Also yea do more of these videos

pokémon black 2 and white 2 are by far my favorite pokémon games, super polished and really recommend checking em out whenever you find the time. if you care for the story in pokémon games check out black white 1 first. also, id love to see you continue to make videos like this!

I wanted to collect all the Pokemon games but when I found d out the pricing i was idk if I can do that. I was able to get the 3ds games bc they still sold them in GameStop. Gen 3 is also my least favorite gen lmao. Gen 5 is my favorite but I also love 4 and 7 too

Just bought two near mint condition dsi's just so I could play my childhood favorites and trade pokemon. Im 21 now and saved alot of money before graduating college and now I have tons of time to play Platinum while waiting for a new job. (Also Dsi lets you run custom firmware and play roms from an SD card instead of going broke) 🙏

Gen 4 is an elite gen. Platinum is my favorite out of that generation. Gen 5 is great too but gets a bad rap. I'd even look into playing spinoffs like Pokemon Conquest.

If you buy an r4 you can play ds rom hacks on your ds. Which is cool for changing evo requirements for pokemon like magmorter and electivire since they're trade only in the base games
