I absolutely love this video. I'm thinking of getting more into selling plants and your videos are very inspiring. I too started selling plants on FB marketplace. I haven't gotten into the area of shipping but I have done the in-person sales and meetups to sales plants. It's been really fun selling plants, and I really wanted to start selling online and start shipping them. I think the shipping with adding in goodies for customers would be the really neat part. Adding the extra touches for customers, just like all the other shops including yours that I order from.

Hi Tashia! Oh wow good job with starting on Market Place that’s a great way to start! You’ll know when you’re ready to start shipping! Just make sure you get all your packing materials and be prepared. It’s simple just hard part is figuring out the shipping process! It’s a lot of fun packing the orders and making it special for the customers. Even when I would local pick up I would always make sure to give a business card and pack it in a bag or box!

Thanks for your great content! Can I ask why you decided against selling plants on Etsy? I've been a plant seller on Etsy for years but I'm also considering starting my own website.
@plantlifelexАй бұрын
Hey thanks for your comment and support 💕! I have a long reply just in case anyone has the same question! I decided against selling on Etsy as my main platform for a few reasons. One of the biggest factors was the fees. Etsy charges listing fees, transaction fees, and payment processing fees, which really add up. It’s hard to take new inventory risks with listing fees. I also hate not feeling secure on Etsy. Etsy is known to shut a lot of shops down with no warning and hold your money especially plant sellers. I don’t want to wake up one day and all my hard work is taken away from me. I don’t deal with all that that on my website. Additionally, I wanted full control over my brand experience which is important to me as a business. Having my own website allows me to customize every single thing the customer sees. It also helps me build a stronger direct relationship with my customers without distractions from other sellers since Etsy recommends similar products and sellers. So most likely I won’t lose a sale on my own website. I started my website and an email mailing list early on to establish that foundation, so now my customers are accustomed to going directly to my site. Etsy is more of a side thing for me that mostly brings in new customers, whereas my returning customers prefer the website. In the end a lot of my Etsy returning customers end up on my website. That being said, Etsy is great for reaching a wider audience, especially when starting out. I highly recommend you take that next step for your brand and make a website! Definitely check out my Patreon for more information on websites vs Etsy. www.patreon.com/PlantLifeLex

I loved this video and seeing all the plants that you bought. They are gorgeous and I wanted to find out what you were spraying on your leaves? Does it keep them shiny or is it temporary until they dry? I am favoriting you on Etsy for sure.

Hi! Thank you for watching! I am spraying a mix of Neem Oil Concentrate, Water and Dishsoap. The Neem Oil Concentrate can be found on Amazon: amzn.to/46PP135 It tells you exactly how to mix it. They will be shiny but not overly shiny or oily. It keeps them looking fresh and clean. And thank you! I sell plant accessories on Etsy only but if you’re looking for plants definitely check out my website 🪴
