Forgot to mention that the store will stamp the knife for you, with your name or something like that. I opted out of it although they'll be in Cabone in Brooklyn in early June so I may go and get something like 'good fortune.'

Hi! Yeah, I dunno why it’s still so small! I haven’t posted a full length video in over a year but the food space is very very crowded so I assume I’m just swimming in a gigantic pond. But that you for being here and appreciating the quality!

What about Ginsu? You went all the way to Japan and didn't buy a Ginsu knife? Next think you know you'll try to tell me that Beethoven was great even though you know as well as I do that he never had his picture on a pack of bubblegum cards. Japan story: I have an artist friend who visited and loathed it. I asked him why. HE: Did you ever see "Blade Runner"? ME: Sure. HE: That's what Japan looks like. Suddenly I didn't want to go either. But I really would like some day to see the Yasukuni Shrine.

Ginsu looks like what I called the sushi knife! I loved Tokyo and all that overstimulation! We built ourselves up for that but I’m sure I’d tire of it if I lived there. Not all Tokyo neighborhoods were like that though.

@@CookingCompanionTV Sorry, but I just remember all those TV ads of my youth showing a guy cutting a soda can in half, then effortlessly slicing a tomato with his still sharp "Ginsu" knife. Classic "as seen on TV!" silliness. But I'm glad you enjoyed Japan. The countryside does look beautiful. (And boy, those are some cool knives.)
