Buying *NEW* BETTA FISH AQUARIUM Kit!!

Paul no the minimum size for a betta fish is 5 gallons. Next time get that. Other than that love the idea of the video. Instead of using sharp rocks use ones that are more rounded but it would be even better if you could fluval stratum or something like that so the plants could grow better (and top it off with sand) to make it look more nicer. For example, if you are struggling or need some help. Do some more research before buying this. (FFT). And also you have to cycle your tank before putting your fish in. So the beneficial bacteria can grow and flourish in your tank. One great additive would probably be an Amano shrimp just in case some algae will grow. Those things will wipe any algae out specifically hair algae.

@@beanj580betas attack other fish when they feel threatened or tested, animals like shrimp are pretty chill and don’t cause much problems, unless your getting another territorial fish your doing fine, also btw a lot of this is based on your fish’s personality, they can either be a prick or really chill.

As someone who currently owns betas, has owned betas, and has studied both wild and captive betas, a five gallon tank is the REQUIRED MINIMUM, in nature they live in gigantic heavily planted bodies of water(think rice fields)

Usually five gallons is the minimum for betas. I'm obviously glad it isn't a bowl or a 1 or 2 gallon but five is definitely the actual minimum. But hey, live and learn, you guys really usually do the best you know of! :) always room to do better, nobody's perfect

Paul, the plants that you put in are Java ferns and they only grow on a piece of wood or stone. If you put them in substrate like you did then all the plants will die. Also I would recommend a little bit of a bigger tank for a betta fish. Hope that it maybe helped you a bit

Paul, I have been watching you since you dug your first pond at your parent's house. From the good old days of mollies and platies. You have grown so much. I am happy that you are spreading happiness onto people. But every time you plant java ferns into substrate, it hurts me buddy. The java ferns, the windelov fern, the narrow leaf fern, They are epiphytes. they can't die if you tie them onto a piece of rock or a drift wood. But they will if you plant them like this... Two things... I hate how topfin sells these tiny tanks and markets them as "betta tanks". They do much better with larger tanks. But the most glaring thing is that the plants Paul put in are mostly java ferns and anubias. These are epiphytes and will die with their rhizomes covered by the gravel.

I rescue bettas and 5 gallon minimum tank ,please toss that food! Bug bites is the way to go. Also, even in Hawaii they need a heater and The plants are gonna die with that substrate . Seachem prime is way better than API. Fish is pretty tho.

I have three problems with this. #1 You set up the fish tank. I feel if you’re buying someone a fish tank kit you should let them set it up. Idc what you say. #2 You didn’t let the tank cycle. #3 That tank is tiny. I’m sorry but I believe you need a 5 gallon at the least. 3 gallons is not enough for a betta. So we grabbed a tank, plants, sand, beta bowl declorinator, and the fish. He's in a 5g heated, planted tank with some blue dream shrimp and blowing bubbles to his hearts content. Lol

@@jerrysmithers1429 um I'm well aware of what people use cranberry juice for..although that appeared to be cranberry juice cocktail which is marginal..BUT if he is in renal failure just pounding cranberry cocktail isn't something you do.there are balances..how do I know you might ask.. after 5 years of my daughter doing the dialysis on her husband for his renal failure he was able to get his kidney transplant this past March..and he was Tier 1 on 3 different hospitals INCLUDING Baylor White in Dallas Lubbock Texas where Brenten is from and where my son in law FINALLY got his transplant. 5 years as a tier 1 is a long time to wait. That's WHY I noticed.
