You mentioned in the video that the Spanish love their roundabouts. There's a reason for that. Some years ago I had an apartment in Entre Naranjos (not far from Bigastro) and a friend told me that the EU gives Spain €20,000 for every roundabout they build! I don't know if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes, the 90 day rule is a pain, but citizens from the Republic of Ireland can stay for the 180 days, or longer if you apply for residency. For EU citizens a residency certificate will cost approximately €120, your lawyer will arrange it all for you.

Problem is, it costs more money as a 3rd country citizen. You have to have a guaranteed income per annum, even when retired, which I believe is almost three times the British pension- so it has excluded most working class people who want to retire there from Britain. ​@kevinallwood2730

Then you haven't seen that much of Spain; there are definitely some that are more run down, dilapidated 'forgotten' places - but equally several nicer towns; but for the prices quoted this area seems to be remarkably good value; especially its location being close to the sea and airports!
