Buying Retired Bionicle & Hero Factory Sets in LA

On my own little quest to collect the G2 sets. I feel I and many people neglected them when they were releasing, and you can feel the genuine interest of the designers trying to make the sets as good as they could. Missing two uniters, plus all but Lewa and Kopaka's elemental beasts, and once I get those I'll slowly begin grabbing the masters, as of those I only have Lewa as well

The 1st & only time I went to brick & minifigs (before the one I went to closed then moved) I found this weird vertical clip part that the plate is shaped like a "D" which I'm not sure if it's lego or not but it's been in my possession for 10 ish years now tho

Geez, even Phase I Rex is in the $200+ range. That's ridiculous. Glad I have two of both Phase I and Phase II Rex. I used to care about minifigures in terms of getting sets that had characters I didn't have back when Clone Wars was coming out, but anymore, they're just minifigs, and not that they don't have value, but like, are they really worth hundreds of dollars for just a few pieces of plastic resembling a character? I don't think I'll ever understand why anyone would pay that much for such a simple thing.

Minifig collecting has ruined so much of the hobby. Jacks up used set prices and makes custom minifigure building something you'll get yelled at for because how dare you use some random star wars characters parts to build a funky alien rock star, don't you know that minifigure is worth money you ignorant fool, you don't deserve him give him to me now. Sometimes you just wanna fricking BUILD, why do collectors have to ruin that?

I'm working up to off load most of my Bionicle/Hero Factory collection. Is Bricks & Minifigs a good place to sell to.

Given that there's one in basically every state of the US, it certainly makes it easy. There are other stores like Orlando Brick Co and Atlanta Brick Co and other independent stores that will buy your LEGO too. Any of these stores will always give you more money for what you are selling, if you sell them as built sets vs as just bulk pieces. But yeah selling them to a Bricks and Minifigures works for quick cash, but they will not give you the full value of the items, as they need to sell it afterwards. Your best bet is to try selling them on ebay, or facebook market place or to other Bionicle fans individually. You're more likely to make more doing it that way. But that will take more time to do and you may not find people willing to buy right away. At least Bricks and Minifigs offers you instant money or store credit.

80$ for an incomplete Witch Doctor is a cheek. The Americans must be crazy. I recently saw a sealed one here in Switzerland for the equivalent of 90$ that hadn't been sold for about 5 months. Insane...

My bricks and mini figs only have the mask maker vs skull grinder and taho with Lesa from g2 and I taho and mask maker vs skull grinder in sealed contain it costed me 250 usd

Seeing how much Lego prices skyrocket really doesn't help my FOMO. Kinda makes me ill, honestly. No way I'm paying that lol. Really glad I got all the G2 Bionicle sets when they released. Don't have to worry about them, at least.

Yeah they are. This store was the most expensive I'd seen. Sadly. I went to a lot while I was on holiday and the prices varied, but most were far too expensive. Still I managed to find a few gems every now and then that were well priced, and some stores let me haggle or make deals at least.
