Buying Retro Games from GAMESTOP

GameStop is going RETRO. GameStop has 3,000 stores & new leadership that wants to make all better. This is a good move.

I honestly really hope this is something that continues to grow and get better over time. When you consider how many generations are retro now, it would pretty much make their inventory in their stores pretty big. It would be cool to go around to different stores to see what different games you can find at each one.

Gamestop should have done this years before they were going under. At least some gamestop stores are selling retro games now.

Yea, GameStop going retro means that -> they no longer have to (mainly compete with “online stores/Microsoft Store/Sony Store/Xbox One store/etc). A (retail store/brick and mortar store) trying to compete with (online stores), will lose. Examples: (BlockBuster vs Netflix). (Redbox vs Netflix). Renting a movie from RedBox = $1 to rent for one day. You also need to factor in (gas expenses). Good thing GameStop changed their business model.

In my opinion they should of never stopped selling "retro" games, With Each generation; They just cut out the "Old" generation and thru the years you seen that decision making cost them more and more, Now all they sell is 3 Gaming console games, (Switch, Xbox, And PS) And to compensate for only having 3 Platforms to profit from, They sell weird (T-Shirt / Figures / Gaming Peripherals) to fill in the void that they dug themselves, Idk about you guys, But im not going into Gamestop to buy a T-shirt or a Figure, Or a keyboard & mouse, Im going in there to buy games..

They grateful reduced the amount of retro stuff in the wild by doing that and well what do you think happens when you pay money for things just to destroy them ? You loose money.

My GameStop had a decent collection. Nothing older than GameCube/PS2/XBox. Prices were decent, and they carried a lot of good games. I was impressed. I just wish my location had an older selection.

I have about 7 gamestops in my area. Only 1 is designated for retro. I went to a store yesterday and I said where is ask your retro stuff. Last week y'all had alot. The worker told me they were told that all the local stores had to ship their stuff to the retro store

What I heard too. Now I think they might still have like 360 or PS3 games but anything older goes to the retro store.

@@cardman1031 Mine had all 360,ps3,wiiu,wii, & 3ds boxes up to go out to the other store. He said they were still gonna take them on trade but then send them to the warehouse to distribute.

You know I remembered when GameStop used to sell retro games like these years ago for a while they don't do that anymore but now they do again next time I go to a GameStop and they have a fine retro selection this is definitely going to bring back memories for sure

Honestly one of the nicest gamestops near me just intentionally didn’t send their Retro stuff back, and just sold. They’re labeled retro now, but they were a slept on store for a while.

The prices seem low because the market is overpriced. GameStop has its flaws but them leaving the older generations and pushing Funko pops is a major reason the used game market exploded. They just need to fix the app so you can wishlist items.

the GameStop in my town is always stocked with PS3 games now... its wild seeing ratchet and clank games regularly on the shelf again. Had to renew my pro sub because its time to go back

I checked one, and they didn’t really have much, at least on display. I’m mainly looking for GameCube games and those seem to be harder to find. Don’t forget to ask behind the counter they store a lot of them there

DBZ 2 is a blast!!!! I’m trying to find it again for ps2, I lost my disk years ago, though I still have case and manual, go figure! Get to playing it, you will enjoy it as much as I did, never played it on GameCube though, hope it works for ya

this is going to fail if you trade in your ps2 console you will only get 18$ in cash or 26$ in store credit but yet on there store shelfs they list a ps2 for 80$ STILL RIPPING PEOPLE OFF

Please GameStop Retro, I really hope you sell a variety of CIB physical copies of old school classic retro video game titles on N64, GameCube, Wii, GB/GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP!! That’s what happened to me I went to my local game stop and I saw left for dead for the Xbox 360 and they were hesitant to sell it to me I’m like is it for sale I’m willing to buy it and eventually they sold it to me 😂

Wow, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on the GameCube for $55?! That's a steal!! I would definitely get it!! Hopefully, I find a copy with the Player's Choice label and CIB around that price. It's an absolute nightmare that these old school classic retro video game titles, regardless of how rare and sought-after they are and what systems they are released on, are overpriced. I stick to a limit of probably $70 or less, which I really hope these old school classic retro video game titles that have hiked up in prices get their prices lowered by the price range I mentioned because I'm so not happy about them being too damn expensive to collect. There's absolutely no reason or excuse to raise their prices up. That's how much I really hope the bubble bursts about these ridiculously expensive prices plaguing the retro video game market. 😱😟
