Plus as a pistol you can take it across state lines without notifying local authorities. Throw a longer barrel that meats your states maximum pistol length requirements... now you have a 6.5 creedmore you can throw under your truck seat and reach out and touch the things your Glock can't.....

The 700 is actually a really good work around in "shotgun only deer season" areas. Its legally a pistol so you can use it for hunting but get better accuracy than a shotgun at long ranges.

Huh? You can use rifles and slug shotguns in NW. Pistol sizes are very strict. I think they do straight wall like Ohio and I know you can use rifle with farmers permits.

My father and grandfather collected a lot of gimmicky pocket guns during the 70's and 80's. I have shot so many absolutely stupid abominations that I ended up developing soft spots for after putting a few rounds down range. Same goes for my brother. He's a CZ75 fanatic and collects the various knock-offs to compare. Now there's a pitted Italian monstrosity of 7 shades of cold blue touch up living in his glove box after it passed the torture tests.

If I remember correctly some states have pistol hunting seasons and that round is generally a rifle round. So they converted it into a pistol to be able to legally use during that season

I KNEW the cool factor would go up when you actually shot the 700 pistol. They made one similar years ago for target shooting. I got to shoot one that belonged to a friend of my dad. It was awesome for my teenaged self. Now way past 40, I'd love to have one of the new ones to hunt with.

This dose have a practical use. In some parts of the us for hunting like say deer you cannot use a rifle but you can carry a pistol to use. So you can carry this "pistol" witch is actual a rifle to hunt deer.

Exactly Remington makes these for a Niche market. It costs them about 80 bucks to manufacture a 700 barreled action. Slap a plastic stock and trigger bar on parts you already have and make a good profit margin.

I actually really like the Remington 700 CP, my friend owns one and Im going to get one myself. Once you add the stock, scope, bi-pod, they look great and are really fun to shoot, but without the mods it does seem kind of pointless. But if your looking for something short, light, and compact then it’s is a great choice.

Rob my dad used to use pistols like that with a bipod for deer hunting. In our county rifles were illegal to use for whitetail we had to use shotguns but to get around that he would use a bolt action stryker .243 with a scope and bipod. Lol they do have some purpose 😂

Meeeanwhile in South Africa... you have to have competency for each kind of firearm... and then when you buy a gun, you have to apply for a license for that specific weapon which takes about 6 months to process.., and only then are you allowed to take it home

Hey rob just to let u know its a felony to hold it like that. You undo the strap and strap it on your arm. When u hold that like a rifle and rest it on your shoulder its to short so it makes it a small rifle that is way under 21 inches you would need a tax stamp for that inorder to shoulder it

Rifles like the rem pistol are great for people who can no longer shoulder a rifle. My dad is a good example. He had to get a pacemaker put in so he can't shoulder a rifle. He currently hunts in the Louisiana swaps shooting a 12 gauge off handed. Which workers for down there but when he comes to northern Louisiana to hunt with me he has to pass up a lot off deer do to distance. I think I'm going to pick one of these up for him to use. I would like to see how far you can shoot it accurately.

I got one them 700 pistols to elk hunt with and use for a back pack big game hunt Mines in 22 250 and got one in 223 as well. Love mine makes great high country hunting pistol don't take up much place with shooting sticks. Plus if you have to travel by kayak or boat to hunting land it makes a very compact rig with scope and bipod or shooting sticks.

You could put iron sights or an optic and a folding stock on that thing and in some nether region world where laws permit you could attach an under-barrel shotgun.. so you could use it like it is at close range and then take it out to long range too.
