Today we're checking out another dyna. This is a 2000 Harley Davidson Dyna FXDX Super Glide Sport that I found used on OfferUp/Craigslist. There are a few things I really dig about the bike and a few things I'm not so thrilled about with this particular purchase.

The clutch is a little off adjustment takes 10 minutes to fix that neutral problem.

I got a 03' super glide fxd anniversary 2 years ago, factory 11k miles for 5k... in PA... and I do like it just the way it is... I got 8" apes and new air cleaner so far.... your bike is looking great Real nice... enjoy 😉..

Sick bike man... My current setup 2018 fxbb club styled out. Stage III. I was in the mrkt for one of these prior to my purchase. M8 paired with the mono shock & frame design sold me on the new setup.

Keep an eye out on sumping....M8 has a design flaw on oil pump, they have been going through three different upgraded versions so far...Hope you still have warranty, or extended warranty.If that happens out of warranty its couple of grand. There is also a primary vent kit to fix the oil transfer problem between primary and transmission. Bike not starting with clutch engaged and on gear is a known issue, plenty of left side handlebar controls have been changed under warranty..... No, not working for a dealer, but have some friends that do....

Currently finishing. 01 fxdx, 08 103" fi 6 speed, 585 cam, ported heads, thunder header, +2" front end, 13.5" HD DX rear shocks, 08 swingarm. Going to paint in 3 weeks. Come ride my fresh build!!!

Had a 2001 FXDX-T, nice bike. Sold it already almost 10 years ago... Now have for instance 04 FXD, with better rear shocks, just a stage 1 on the engine and FXDX handlebars. Nothing fancy but great bike. Have been trying to sell it here in the east coast, can't give it away. Was asking even close to 4K at some point, no takers. Bike is really nice, rides great and has 20K miles. So after trying for months to sell it, installed FXDX adjustable front forks on it and decided that I'm done selling it. I'm building my other bike right now after a small technical mishap and sadly after it's done this Dyna just sits at the garage...But not giving it away, too much bike for 4K.

Man my first Harley was a Concord Purple FXDX I loved that bike she had a powder coated Thunderheader I put Stage II Big Bore 95” on it even though it didn’t need it the 88 “ was just fine but for $ 1400 installed I couldn’t resist if that lady had not pulled out in front of me and totaled my purple people eater lol I would still be riding her today. I am really really looking forward to your adventures on this scooter

Had the same issue with neutral on my dyna. An easy clutch basket adjustment completely fixed it. Purple looks sweet man!

I'm diggin it! I had trouble finding neutral until I switched to redline fluids, also if you put too much trans fluid that seems to happen.

Dynas get expensive af dude. Suspension, exhaust, handlebars, crash bar, sliders, tune, air cleaner, And in my case I’m going from forward to mids, And Dechroming a lot of parts. Definitely gets up there in price if your going from bone stock going to this featured in the video lmao 🤙🏼 love the purple 💜

On older bikes I found it's easier to hit Neutral if you lightly goose the throttle before pulling up on the shift lever. My 99 was hard 'till I learned that trick.

Nuetral was optional in those days. Along with the non-saftey switch on the clutch. Cool bike, hope you got a good deal!

@@Anonymous594 As it came they had cam chain tensioner issues and yes, not very powerful. They CAN, however, be woken up quite nicely. The 88 twincam isn't a cheap engine to upgrade correctly, though. None of the twincams are. I doubt the Milwaukee 8s are any cheaper!

Nice bike! Purple doesn’t look too bad on it actually. Likely the clutch needs adjusting. My Roadglide is a bitch to get in neutral at times.

Dude!!!! Get it . Love that purple. It's in perfect condition to ride hard. Better get it while it's the price that it is because they are not getting any cheaper.!!!! And if you ever get tired of the purple just vinyl wrap it and ride it harder .

Bought a Concord Purple 2001 FXDXT last year for $2380 with 12,xxx OG miles on it. Didn't come with bags or fairing but its a GLV vin making it a T Sport. I put Leather Pros and a Deviant fabs T sport fairing on it. Better than the stock parts. Doing a build here soon with it!

Blip the throttle, it flings the oil out of the clutch pack. Makes it easier to go into neutral

Put some Red Line Synthetic trans fluid in there and adjust the clutch. Finding N will be a breeze

The fxdx are the best performance bikes that harley ever made and for some reason they only made them for 6 years. It's the only new harley worth anything. Keep it.. People need to realise that the 1999 to 2002 Twin cam is a far superior engine than the 2003 onwards junk. Biggest reason Timkin bottom ends... Obviously Purple Rains cam chest has been upgraded. Keep it, sell your others! We call these real Dynas.

Nope, it's not "far superior". Should HD have stayed with Timkens after 03, absolutely. But it's not like that later is junk. Far from it. HD has made TC110 with the same bottom end, no problems. (Dont get me started on TC110 lifters though...) That 03 up bottom end is totally fine. There is a Timken conversion kit but its waste of money unless you go with much bigger motor. I have several friends as techs at dealers, some working since late 90s, and none of them ever had a TC come in that would have blown the crank bearings, with or without Timkens. I have asked that from several of them when I have been buying/servicing/tuning some Twin Cams I have owned. Its same kind of thing as when TC came 99 and people were crying that it doesn't have separate lifter housings like evo, its junk! Well I have personally seen several +100K mile TC engines, nothing wrong with lifter housings. Same thing with the techs I know, they have never had a TC with lifter housing so worn out it would need overhaul or new cases. And they mostly deal with TC engines, many with high miles. A couple had a service done on April on a local dealer, they had 04 and 06 touring Harleys. Hers had 130K miles, his 160K miles. Both engines never been opened. Still, evo is the way to go..

I won't buy a HD older then 2010. They got rid of that death wobble at high speed by changing the frame geometry.

I’d say many year Dynas are susceptible to wobble. But I just had alignment done, along with a CCE adjustable motor mount and replaced swing arm/neck bearings at Ground Zero Cycles (Burbank, CA) and now my ‘01 FXDXT is solid at 100MPH.
