Not to mention the crazy amount of people that are hearing their names for the first time because of this and it’s, well, because if this. 🫤 I have a feeling that if their marriage is going to stand any chance they need to move out of LA and back to be closer to family. But if he’s a serial cheater she needs to walk away.

She’s exploited her ‘marriage’ and ‘family’ for coin and clout for years. This is what happens when you do things like that; when you sell a fantasy; a fallacy; when you ask ppl to pay you for relationship ethics seminars… and no, anyone that watched their early videos was not surprised. He was clearly a freak.

Saying “not surprised” while not saying anything to Ariel is not the flex they think it is. Edit cus this blew up: I’m not saying they were required to tell Ariel. Or that Ariel would believe them if they did. But tweeting about saying they knew he was creepy just seems like they’re trying to draw the attention to themselves, while Ariel’s family is falling apart. It’s insensitive and weird behavior.

They didn’t work with Ariel and no one said they saw him cheat, it seems like all the the former buzzfeed coworkers just thought he was a creep. You can’t just run up to your coworkers wife and tell her that you think her husband is creepy with no concrete proof. I feel like we all know someone or a couple that portraits themselves this way. I understand having a happy family and a successful marriage is part of his brand and makes them money because that's what he was selling to his audience. But there's a lot of people who only have relationships or portray their relationship in a completely different way just for the camera, it's a show and a business for them only. We gotta be more skeptical with what people are selling us as content online 🤷‍♀️ specially as I see a lot of my friends who aren't married or in a relationship putting couples on pedestals or envying them when they don't know half of what's going on behind close doors. That's why I as I got older I became disenchanted with a lot of content creators, family vlogs and couples I grew up watching on this platform.

@Louis Kingsta So you DO feel sorry for Ariel, since this is the first time for her (from what we know) and her youngest child isnt even 2 yet. If you wanna judge people who return to the same person over and over, fine, but that's not Ariel. I also agree that I hope she gets divorced and has that self respect, but with kids and family involved it is always harder. We also have no idea how her family and his family are reacting and the things they are saying. Sadly a lot of women also get trapped in marriages as people and their partners try to put this narrative in their mind that divorcing would harm the children, which in this case it certainly wouldn't as she has the money, has the personality and strength, and has a successfull life. Sadly though its still a thing in society as a whole. Which makes no sense, as to me its more harmful to allow cheating which in turn teaches your kids that cheating is fine aslong as you have kids, or they will never know and any bitterness she might hold on to can be seen as irrational by them later as they grow. I have situations like that in my own family, where sadly women who are divorced are shamed on, swell as women who are widows and move on, so someone stayed married and the kids still have no idea what disgusting things their father did. So now the mother is being shamed not just by society to stay with him, and her own family, but also her kids about her ( rightful) bitterness at times. Just know its not easy being A Woman, and even though they live in America and its more progressive, some families still push these mindsets more then others, and some have learned it from society normalizing it. Hopefully she isn't one, but we shouldn't judge her choice as its her life and the first time for her too.

If the fact that everyone knew for MONTHS before this is true, this makes me question how the company works and priortizes things. Like some of the employees work with his wife on the podcast. How could they work with her and know a big secret about her husband? Makes me think that Ariel and Ned had an understanding between each other and they all were taking the time to craft responses/reactions for when it all came up. Does this make it right, hell no. Ariel 100% deserves better than this and it breaks my heart to know that this is all happening to her.

I’m not surprised if the other guys knew about it earlier in the month - these kind of investigations can take a substantial amount of time to resolve. Gathering evidence, statements, contacting lawyers for legal ramifications, etc. Especially if the initial allegations were denied then confirmed as more evidence surfaces. We don’t know how messy it was to extricate Ned from the company since he helped create it. And as for Alex, if they can’t part ways with her due to some legal loopholes or whatnot, she should resign. I would imagine the office is one hostile work environment for her. My sympathies go out to Ariel, her kids, the other guys and staff.

@@bibliowolf5735 iirc the guys mentioned it in a video a while ago, like in a throwaway comment they said that the company doesn't (or at the time didn't) have a proper HR team and they let Ned handle that side of the business. The guys love Ariel and the kids, but Ned didn't get fired because he cheated on her (especially since we know he's been flirting and creeping on women for years). He got fired because he cheated on her *with an employee* specifically. The improper work relationship is definitely the reason. Ned put the whole company at risk. Alex could now say she was coerced into a relationship because Ned was her boss. She could sue Ned and the company. I believe she's left/will leave of her own volition, but if the guys fire her she could sue them for retaliation, too. And it would set a dangerous precedent because in the future other employees could make up all sorts of allegations, now that the company's image was marred by this scandal. It's a mess. I've seen people complain about Alex getting off easy but the truth is that her cheating on her partner is her own business. On the other hand, Ned risks bringing the whole company down with him, this is why people focus on him. This is so much bigger than just his marriage.
@nenegrey2282
@nenegrey2282 Жыл бұрын
@@acemoto6232 We're not talking about morality, but about the legal consequences of the CEO and head of HR of a company starting a relationship with an employee. This isn't a cheating scandal to gossip about and play morality police. This can become very, very ugly for the whole company. Ned wasn't fired for cheating, but for putting the company at risk. Stories have come out of him flirting with women left and right for years, and of the other Try Guys knowing, this might not be the first time he's cheated. But he kept his job because he didn't compromise the company. Alex is responsible as well but legally, she could say that she was coerced or harassed and was too scared of being fired in retaliation so she stayed in the relationship, and a judge would probably rule in her favor. This is so much bigger than just a cheating scandal. Ned put the whole company at risk and that's why he was fired. I don't personally care about two complete strangers cheating. The problem for me is when abuse of power and workplace sexual misconduct come into play. Had Ned cheated with someone that didn't work for him, I would not be here watching videos like this and worrying about the future of The Try Guys.

They possibly could have told her, and clearly, she isn't ready to walk away from the relationship herself. You can tell somebody that they're getting cheated on or that their partner is shady, but unless they themselves realize that, there's nothing more you can do. Who's to say his coworkers or friends didn't tell her? And she just sat back and let it continue happening. Clearly, if she's so willing to work it out if the TMZ videos are real, then yeah, it wouldn't strike me as odd that there's a possibility that she was told and just let it go. I'll say it again, you can't always help somebody if they're willing to be walked all over. You can't force somebody to find their own worth. That has to come to them on it's own time. She has to find the strength to say enough is enough. Nobody can do that for her.

This is an opportunity to self-reflect and recognize the harmful and predatory nature of parasocial relationships. This is not about Ned or Alex or Ariel or the other Try Guys. This is about having the curtain pulled back, looking Oz right in the face… You never knew these people. You will never know these people. They preyed on your very basic instinct to form bonds with others. You watched them. You thought you knew them. You believed them. Maybe You even took seminars on relationships ethics from them… But they preyed on you. Here’s an example: So Alex’s fiancé first knew about the affair more than a year ago. The try guys knew about it more than a year ago. They promised it was a short fling; it was over. The fiancé And the try guys decided to ‘move on.’ Only when the fiancé received photos on Sept 1 of 2022, evidence that the relationship had not ended more than a year ago, that it has continued the entire time, did he threaten to go public with the photos/videos. And that is when the Try Guys decided to cut ties with Ned and edit him out of videos. Now go back and look at all Of the try guy content from 2022 and some of 2021… all of that was a lie

I think one of the reasons this completely BLEW UP is because #1 The Try Guys have never been involved in drama and no in ever thought there would be any #2 of The 4 of them, Ned seemed like the last person on earth people would suspect of cheating, specially in such an obvious manner and #3 no one thought any of them would do something that risked SO much in their lives..... family... company.... friend group.... I mean the list can go on and on . I am curious to see how everything turns out for all of them.

I always find it weird how when someone with a “nice” reputation is exposed for something bad, all these people crawl out of the woodwork to declare “I knew it” or “I’m not surprised” with smug vindictiveness. I’m not defending Ned in the slightest, and he’s being properly dunked on by the internet at large. But do these irrelevant ex-Buzzfeed employees really think their hot takes are noteworthy? Maybe the ones that worked with Ned directly. But if you supposedly “knew all along” why is this the first time you’ve ever said anything? Either way, I don’t trust people who dance on the graves of someone else’s reputation. Reeks of clout chasing.

No one in the try guys circle has called it cheating. He said, “I had a consensual work place relationship.” He didn’t say I cheated on my wife or I had an affair. I wonder if Ariel knew and didn’t care and the only one who had a problem was Alex’s fiancé. The paparazzi video of them together being a united front was too odd. WEIRD

"working on working things out" could be construed either way, they could be trying to work on their marriage and moving past this or trying to work on a divorce that is mutually beneficial so they can stay on the best terms possible for their children. Either way my heart goes out to Ariel and the children and Alex's fiancé, and I wish them all the best.

I feel like people have these social media parasocial relationships but at the end of the day, these ppl were coworkers. They may all appear as friends, but in reality, were just working together for their brand. I don’t think it’s your coworker’s responsibility to tell your spouse if you’ve been cheating on them. What’s most shocking to me is how everyone who knew Ned at the time knows this was all an open secret.
