Yes, Eugene sort of blossomed since he came out but that was likely to happen. The thing that I didn't expect is that some "fans" are regularly commenting about how he should dial it back, stop with the gay jokes, don't talk about alcohol, basically dim the lights a little bit just so they can feel more comfortable... pretty sad really. Here's the key to reciting pi as a party trick: after the first six or seven digits, 99% of people will not know if you're faking it. As long as you just keep saying numbers with a thoughtful look on your face, you can get away with it. Just make sure there aren't any real smart people in the room and you look like a genius.
