Can Jasmine successfully teach Kelly how to make one of her favorite dishes, Yan Su Ji (Taiwanese Street-Style Salt and Pepper Chicken), while only speaking Mandarin? For this cooking challenge Kelly is allowed three life lines: Google it, call Jasmine’s brother and call Jasmine’s mom. Watch to find out how many life lines she ends up using. @@memenoyome As a Mandarin speaker I gotta say the words don't sound as similar as you think! Kanji looks similar to Chinese characters, but when spoken out loud there are a lot of differences.

@@londonjohn5074 you do realize we use hand gestures to give contexture to our conversations even as hearing people right? The mandarin speaking chef was literally doing this when specifying the word ‘wan’ for the word ‘bowl’ making the shape with her hands. Your argument is that you can’t learn it right then and there but the English speaking chef literally said she didn’t know a single word of mandarin before this video. It would be entertaining to a lot of people, just not you apparently. Note: I am a hearing person with over 5 years of education of ASL and the Deaf World

@@Ylseroth well you have studied 5 years worth of training, neither of them have and I doubt a lot of tasty producers haven’t either. Also for the bowl thing you were talking about, that is basically “charades” not proper asl. They also learned a little mandarin in the beginning which made it easier. I would in fact be entertained if they DID do this but it’s most likely not going to happen (This is my opinion I guess)
