I think it would be fun to make another video and recreate this recipe into 2 separate versions: a completely sweet version (maybe replacing the ground beef and peas with chopped chocolate chunks and some sort of green candy), and a completely savory version (replacing lady fingers with breadsticks or stuffing, jam with pureed sun-dried tomatoes, and the custard with mashed potatoes or whatever you feel inspired to use).

Thanks for speaking about the banana/savory combo! Here in Brazil we like to throw some banana on top of our beans, which usually is accompanied by rice,meat and salad. So, if not for the custard/jam situation it wouldn't be that foreign lol

The "Um, actually" commentators couldn't be missing the point any harder - it's a faithful re-creation of a fictional recipe from a decades-old show. Anyone that searches for a proper Shepherd's Pie recipe would instantly learn the difference.
@niccir28853 жыл бұрын
The way she introduces it by saying, "I want to find out if it's a comedy tv punchline or if it's a real thing." definitely makes it sound like she has no idea it was a recipe gone wrong on the show.
@Lucy-wc5vf3 жыл бұрын
@@niccir2885 No that's not what that implies. From context it's clear she means 'real thing' as in if this could be something people enjoy. Did the writers accidentally make a good recipe is the question she is trying to answer. From the references she makes about the show, she's clearly watched it and knows it's not suppose to taste good. Thus it's the 'punchline'. I'm honestly confused at the confusion.

One time I had gotten a country fried stake and a waffle from the same breakfast place, and they put all the sauces for the waffle in one group of containers, and all the condiments for the country fried steak in another group. Or so I thought. Turns out one of the gravy containers was with the waffle sauces, and I layered each sauce beautifully to get the full result, which was gravy (thought it was chocolate sauce), maple syrup, and whipped cream. I don't like wasting food, so I ate most of it, but enjoyed very little of it.
