Start small with one day festivals near you and then keep going. I started when I was 13 with a 2 day festival and now I'm 19 and go to governor's ball every year. Wanna try and international festival soon.

Phailox sorry to say but drugs are inevitable. In any scene. Not just rave/festival culture. Drugs are not mandatory nor are they peer pressured upon people. If you do feel that’s what it’s about, then it’s the people you surround yourself with. From the countless festivals and raves I’ve gone too I ALWAYS! ALWAYS! meet sober ravers. (That’s Including alcohol) good vibes are contagious. Once you find your genre of music that you enjoy (trance, house, trap, riddim,dubstep) and stand in a crowd of hundreds to thousands of people who enjoy the same rhythm as you ....... drugs will never be NEEDED.

Been going ever single year, it's best experience anybody can have, but I'm sad that they're trying to be more mainstream. Don't get me wrong I loved watching Dua Lipa, but the festival was more EDM than anything else and that was kind of the beauty of it imo 💋

There are smaller city festivals with no camping options and with reasonably priced hotels nearby.

The hotels are really good. The Global Journey packages are hotels in Brussels and some are Theme Hotels with surprises in your room each night. Also breakfast and midnight snacks when you get back. It's an hour approx on the bus depending which hotel but worth it for air conditioning, hot shower and nice bed.
