With the security footage, it wouldn't be so hard to find the people if they put it in the news. Probably felt like it wasn't worth their time, like the DA would just take a plea deal. I mean, look how lazy they were. Police didn't pull security footage, she had to do it. They had the car for a week "hoping the thieves would show up again". But the police probably didn't find it, a parking checker probably noticed it was there for a couple of days.

They act like you should be happy they found it We saw a gun hole in the bumper The cops said bs they prolly just randomly put a screw there thats how the hole got there. My marine bf confirmes its a gun hole (more than 8 years after). We live next to a military housing unit and there was a spree of stolen cars. We ended up finding tuns of car papers in our car, from the military. We contact the police who said "thats not important just trash it" after which my mom asked her friend with a husband in the miltary what she should do who said "dear god do not touch them do not trash them put them in a plastic back contact the base via .... and they will have a look at those and most likely your car." They were happy with the papers, no idea if they ever found the tuns of cars that got stolen or the people who did it. You dont really get updates if you hand in a case to the military. Or we did and my mom neglected to tell me. I was at most 10 when this happened

They didnt take evidence when mine was stolen and I knew the girl who stole it. The officer who took my report said she would be charged with grand theft auto but she was arrested on an unrelated possession charge a few months later and never was charged with anything related to my car

Pretty much how I feel about the trees In front of our house 😂😂 there are three giant wobbly trees in front of our house and to get them taken down we can’t get just any person to take these trees down. the city has to cut them down and they won’t even do anything with them besides make sure they aren’t in the middle of the highway we live on. I couldn’t get it out of the pit I was stuck in and so while I waited an hr for my mom to pick me up, a guy who lived 2 houses down helped me and my mom tow the car out of the pit using his truck. #3 is why you need to make sure you maintain your car regularly. If you take care of your car, it's going to last a hell of a long time and have less problems in the long run. And whatever problems are inevitable for your specific model - they'll likely be less severe and happen in the distant future. It quite literally pays to take care of the things you own - especially something as important and expensive as a car.

Her problem was she tried to drive it while it was still overheated. You can take the very best care if your car, but there’s still going to be things that break on it especially if it’s a high mileage vehicle.

Hence why you have to take care of your car and do regular maintenance, such as making sure all fluids are filled to the proper level, and changing said fluids every xxxx amount of miles. If everything is taken care of regularly and there's no leaks and the car isn't low on any fluids - that points to a mechanical issue such as your thermostat or radiator or something being bad (or god forbid a blown headgasket) and needing to be replaced. Everything breaks eventually, parts aren't intended to last forever. But the better you care for your car, the longer those parts will last. (The longevity of parts/cars also depends on your driving habits.)

I have my car overheat on me more than 3 times. It broke down while I was driving from Dallas to Austin. A trip that takes 3 hours took me 14 hours as I had to take a bus. Also includes being stranded in Waco because the bus broke down and we had to wait for another. That’s my horror story

My car horror story is really a dad horror story. My dad was in his 50s when I was born (he would be over 100 now if he was still alive), and lived his whole life in Orkney, which is a remote set of Scottish islands at 59 degrees north. He learned to drive in a tractor in 1930, and until the 1980s had never driven anything except farm equipment and very old and dilapidated Land Rover Defenders. In 1985, my mother, who is only 4’10, got tired of driving a vehicle that was far too big for her, and bought a car. My dad, who was now 70 years old, came to pick me up from the ferry in it one day. The journey home was 7 miles on single track, rural roads, in sub-zero temperatures. We didn’t make it home. My dad had no idea how to drive a car on ice, and we ended up sideways in a ditch, pointing back the way we came. Although it was very cold, we’d hit the ditch hard enough to break through the ice, and started sinking into the soupy mud at the bottom of the ditch. Fortunately, we both managed to get out before the mud ate the whole car, and I remember being surprisingly calm through the whole thing. My mother - not so much.

So I almost died in as a passenger in a car accident about a year ago... A foreign co-worker of my mom's had a buck charge his car while he was driving, get stuck in the windshield, and bleed out all over him as he CONTINUED DRIVING. mine is...we were driving home from the lake about 4 hr drive usually. about 30 min in and we get a flat in our trailer. we left the jack at our lake house and we were in the middle of the desert so it took 3 hrs for people to come put it on. we start driving again and 45 min later the other tire pops...takes 2 hrs to come and we have to drive 40 min to get another tire then we had to go back and put it on. luckly the owners at the tire place were nice. they had 2 hr wait but they remembered we called hrs ago so they got us in right away. after all that there was so much trafic and was 3 more hrs. 4 hrs turned into 14 hrs

My own car had started on fire (literally) and so my dad lent me one of his cars for the time being. My friend and I planned to take the car for a day trip to another city about 3 hours away. Before we left something felt off about the car but when I asked the guy at the station to check it, he said it was all good so off we went. 1 hour into the drive, the car started swerving a bit so I slowed down and was pulling over when all of a sudden the drivers side wheel popped off and bounced across the highway (narrowly missing other vehicles) and into the ditch. Long story short, we had to hitch a ride the rest of the way and the car was totaled off.

My car horror story: So this happened when I was like 10 or something. So I was sitting in the back seat, my sister was sitting in the passenger seat, and my mom was sitting in the drivers seat driving. So we were driving to god knows where when a HUGE u haul trucks, about 2 cars ahead of us, tire flew of the truck. The empty slot where the tire was was smoking and my sister was freaking out. The tire flew RIGHT PAST our car. Then I pretty much forgot everything after us but we were fine.

I remember my old 2000 Honda Accord with no radio (long story) and rebuilt transmission. I was at my dads house one night when we hear a glass breaking noise and head out. My whole back window was shattered all inside the car along with one unbroken modelo bottle. Looked at surveillance video and turns out a guy was walking by when he got jumped by two other guys, one of them threw a bottle at the other and it went right past him into my window. They scattered afterwards. That’s just one thing that happened to that car. All in all probably put about 12-15 grand into it before the engine died

However, I literally pulled to a store parking lot, called my dad and he told me to not drive it and like a typical Mexican dad he and a couple of my uncles came to check it out and were like “Nope” and called a tow truck and took it home. I live in Europe so Americans correct me if I am wrong: As I understood it, in the US people have credit scores: the higher it is the more you are allowed to loan. So if it is too low, banks mobile phone companies, car dealerships and other services will refuse to give you a loan or service. I didn't know the police could have influence on it :o

Me and my family were in San Francisco on holiday and were riding home to our airbnb in an uber. Suddenly I look out the window and say in shock is that car on fire? Causing everyone in the car to immediately look and everyone went oh god that car's on fire. We were british tourists who had no idea where we were or what to do plus the uber driver kept driving. My mum quickly said to the driver ''What do we do? Whats the protocol for this' because everyone was just going straight past it and we were confused the driver goes 'Call 911'. So here we are in a new part of the world in a city we'd never been to before plus we're driving away. My mum starts talking to the operator and says we just passed a car on fire. Then there was a language barrier because someone had thrown something in the front of the car that set it on fire and in England we call the front of a car the bonnet and in the US they call it the hood and also none of us could agree on the make or colour of the car as it had been a flying sight and it didn't look like anyone else was doing anything. Also we had no idea where we were.

I let my older sister and her boyfriend borrow my car for some time and when I asked for it back they at first refused to give it to me but then told me that the car wouldn't start so I had it towed to my place. That's when I learned that the car was not taken care of very well and was very damaged. Not only was there something clearly wrong with the engine but the tires were almost completely flat, the windshield had multiple long cracks, the front and back bumpers were all scratched up and dented, and the outside part of the passenger door was heavily bent back so it wouldn't close properly. I asked them what happened to my car and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. I pointed out all of the damages and they said the car was like that when I gave it to them and that I did it all. It was not like that when I gave it to them.
