I had a pug named Kimo, and he really was a graceful swimmer. His most beautiful performance was when he snuck into the neighbor's yard and just into their pool while the cover was on. My neighbor had to jump in, clothes and all, to save Kimo from drowning. It was truly so majestic.

Necromaster2077 Originally pugs had longer noses but then later on a new variety of pug came from china with the flatter nose and that is the one that stuck around until today unfortunately. to breed them with actual snouts now would require pretty much all pugs to be crossbred and many people are unwilling to do that. i will say though that ive known many many pugs to survive for 12+ years with little problems breathing other than the loud loud sound

Necromaster2077 I have 2 pugs. One is older, she is 5. The other is still a puppy at 11 months old. The older pug snores sometimes, and the puppy doesn't snore. Neither one of them has breathing problems. My pugs wear a halter when I take them for a walk, or even just take them outside because they have sensitive tracheas. Basically a regular collar and leash won't do for my pets. The pressure of a collar against their throats causes them to start reverse sneezing. I've had 3 pugs and none of them have ever had any breathing problems. I keep them at an ideal weight, they aren't obese, and are very healthy.

Necromaster2077 these days basically all breeds of dogs have problems that were bred in to them. Even if it doesnt seem like it, a lot of dogs have weird organs because of the way the were bred, or bone structure, blah blah hm

A pug on a healthy diet and enough exercise can live 15+ years. It's when they're overweight that the breathing problems associated with the breed become big issues. Healthy weight for pugs are 20-23 lbs.
