It's all in the core baby, plus get some heels that FIT. I personally go for open toe heels just because they are comfier and let my toes have space to breathe and not be squished together.

ohmylovelysandra I do the opposite. I prefer closed toe shoes because I feel like I'm strapped in more. It's like how lacing your ice skates super tight gives you better control. That extra snugness helps me feel more balanced. My shoes are never too small, but I don't like the wiggle room.
