the movie in my opinion NOW gets a 9/10 for explaining ALOT. For instance why superman couldnt stop the court house explosion, why sups confronted batman, why the desert scene was SO important, it showed EVERY step of Lex's plan to frame superman, and hit goes more in depth into louis's story(making use of her more), it shows more of the good hearted superman we all know and love and shows more clark kent scenes, there are also character changes such as perry white. The ultimate cut also evens out the screen time between superman and batman. But some bad things do remain like weird lex luthor, the JLA tease, and doomsday, but everything else is fixed.

The thing that always bugged me about Superman smashing the guy through the wall was that they blow the chance for an infinitely cooler scene: The guy says "Don't take a single step" and Superman pauses for a second before stepping across the room so fast that even though the guy fires, Superman's hand is between the gun and Lois, all in the blink of an eye. Superman knocks the gun away, lightly shoves the guy down and flies off with Lois, leaving the man terrified. Right there you show not only how insanely powerful Superman is compared to normal humans (and why they are afraid), but also the amount of control over his powers he has acquired. It's possible that Superman could be resurrected and brainwashed by Darkseid. That happened in the Animated Series.

This is true but what I'm commenting on with that is that even though the Lord of the Rings is a way better trilogy which would arguably "deserve" more extras and footage they still made you pay more money to watch the same movies, which again don't get me wrong are way better movies than this, on the gimmick that even though you literally know almost everything about the narratives there's still an hour's worth of footage you have not seen. This has been done for decades on the same basis and reasoning for many worse and better movies. I just don't understand why this movie is getting so much hate for doing what many companies have been doing for, again, decades. Sorry.

As long as Avatar and Titanic are the 2 top grossing movies of all time, there's no excuse. Superhero movies are huge enough that people would gladly watch 3 hour movies if they're good. Dark Knight Rises was just 15 minutes short of 3 hours and made over a billion. This edition of BvS would've made over a billion too because it has the crossover and was actually decent; what theaters got wasn't even decent so it made less than a billion despite having the 3 most iconic superheroes crossing over. It blows my mind how they destroyed their own movie. Ultimate Edition is clearly the only edition. What theaters got was the Ultimate Edition with 30 minutes of critical footage cut out. Not the other way around of these scenes being added later for DVD.

BVS theatrical cut for me was an 8.0 and the ultimate cut jumps to a 9.3, it added things that shouldn't have been cut giving depth, emotion and motivation to many characters in the film, even if you don't like the movie you can't deny that the ultimate cut is an improved movie, how much does it improve it is up to each viewer, it could improve it slightly or dramatically, for most people it's huge difference, I know people that hated the movie that like the ultimate cut including a lot of film pundits.

I really enjoyed the movie IMO, it was by far one of the most entertaining and driven superhero films, I enjoyed the visuals and characters, that story is good and the executions were well placed, I liked Lex’s character for what it is as it does remind me of the criminal mastermind Lex from the old Superman franchise yet add a modicum of modern take with a calm, hateful persona. Doomsday, well not really doomsday as we have yet to see him, Batman, Alfred, Superman Wonder Woman, all good. I especially liked the Ultimate Edition, makes me wonder why they didn’t add it is, till I realized it was WB’s doing who didn’t have faith in their original plan.

People who went to see this movie thought they were seeing another MCU type movie. Sometimes people want to escape, not face the realities of the real world. BvS really make one deal with a real reaction to geo-political realities of today's world to a real life superman and a real life batman. Even if you are good, half the country and the world is not going to like you. Marvel is loved because they help people escape reality, and DC smacks reality in your face. In real life, the world will not respond to the Hulk, Thor, and the rest of the Avengers with glee and happiness. They will respond like Batman V. Superman shows, like our political system, people are going to love or hate when one yield's power. For instance, half the people hate the cops in this country, and the other half love the cops. Half America thinks Obama is great and the other half can't wait to get rid of him. Super heroes in the DC world are not going to be looked at universally as something good by mankind. When some people go to the theater they cannot stand that the politics of the real world are thrown back at them in the likes of Superman and Batman. On the other hand, Marvel lets you escape. The Avengers were perfect in the heroes, everybody loves come to the rescue an everybody accepts. They love the first 2 Superman movies of the 70s because nobody mind an Alien was their savior. There are no consequences, nobody dies, and all superheros are loved. I'm sorry, that's child's play, made for children. Some people need to grow up. DC characters have flaws like the old Greek gods. That is why I appreciate BvS more than I can any Avengers movie, because it makes you think of our society as a whole.

+Matthew Fernandez (MSR) Unless the studio overrides the director, he has control on what makes it to the screen. Snyder might not have wrote the story but he can make scene changes, add dialogue, or remove dialogue as he sees fit. That's his job as the director. That's why director's get so much credit for making a movie. Its' also why good directors get so much praise. Except for the fact that the studio told him to trim the movie by 30 minutes, what you see on the screen was his vision and his decisions. It's definitely his fault for how the movie turned out.

Even if BvS disgusts me, I liked the nerfed Superman. And I like the overpowered Quicksilver, lol The level of their powers can be overlooked if the movies uses them in the right way. They didn't used Superman very well, but it's good to see him more vulnerable imo It makes the character more interesting. Quicksilver is just the good version of the reverse flash, that power (slow down time around him instead of running super fast) is something so incredibly awesome. Fox said that their quicksilver only runs fast, but the special scenes with him are basically a display of the reverse flash superpower. It's great to see this power being used in a film with all that fancy and expensive special effects and shit.

I accept alternative versions of iconic characters as well. The problem is with the characterization and motivations. Batman don't have a reason to kill. He is angrier now, he is cruel... Because? No one truly knows. And, obviously, the huge plot hole that ended up being created because of this... We don't know about the other Batman's villains, but the Suicide Squad is alive. One of the most dangerous DC villains, Joker, is alive and well. What twisted sense of priority is this that an alien who is helping people needs to be killed in cold blood, but a psychotic clown is spared?

The first real change in the film is the opening itself (not the narration part by Bruce, but Martha and Thomas Wayne being shot) I counted 5 changes things. One which is the most important of all is Bruce hearing his dad actually saying Martha, so it would make more sense later in the end. Also the look of death Martha had on her face once the gun was in her face among others.

My rating from a real fan point of view: Theater's version 8 to 8.5 Ultimate Version 9 to 9.5 The problem with people is that they were still waiting for a happy and funny Marvel movie and what they got was a DC film for real hardcore fans. #1 Lex Luthor was just perfect. Watching the extended addition just made me angrier at the movie. It made certain things make more sense; the scene w/ the Russian burning the bodies explained why everyone thought that SM killed the terrorists, flushing out the African woman character explained why she lied when she testified against SM in front of Congress, etc. But what this version also did was it made it more clear that Lex was manipulating BM & SM the whole time, AND Lois discovered this while BM, the world's greatest detective, did not. This movie reduces BM into a mindless brute w/ a whole bunch of weapons who gets absolutely played by Lex. BM might as well have been the Punisher in this movie...

I respect everybody's opinion on this movie. In my opinion however, the only reason people did not like this movie was because of their fear of accepting anything new or a different take on these amazing characters. You are right about Lex and a couple of other things, but missed so much of what this story was about. So sad. And I don't think the US Capital building is a "court room" fellas. Here's my takeaway: Superman is viewed as a "God" by the public, Batman is viewed as a vigilante gone too far. This is the old "Apollo vs Pluto" scenario and when viewed that way, it makes sense. Lex was researching the Metahumans, hence he knew Superman's weaknesses. That's how he knew the lead wheelchair (Wallace was his name btw) would work vs Superman. Superman is caught between trying to do too much; he's losing himself. He didn't give up, he's frustrated because he has to make choices, but it's never a zero sum game; there will always be losers and collateral damage. Synder hamfisted the entire "Martha connection." Lex's character looked more like a polished Joker, not a Luthor. And bringing up Doomsday didn't need to happen; we could have left it at an "abomination". But to me that is all that is wrong here. The special effects are great, Bat's toys are awesome, Ben nails the Batman role, and Superman's part is great. WW did a fantastic job. Lex was miscast and horribly executed. Other than that, this is a solid movie. The score is amazing. The cinematography is pretty awesome too (use of fallen objects, to depict the "fallen") 8 of 10. Pay more attention to the details guys; it's what makes a movie these days.

+Daniel A he doesnt have to listen to the KZbin comments he has more reliable ways of communication im sure. KZbin is infested with nonsense. Saying they should disable that ability is just wrong.. because as a content creator you should have full control. You dont always want newcomers comin to videos and read comments just to see trolls and arguments that never have anything to do with the video.

Sir Noel I don't know what sort of bullshit world your living in but to me that's criticism. People add anger to their arguments to grab peoples attention better. It's persuasion 101. It doesn't make anyones arguments any less valid. As if, if they hurt your feelings then you have to ignore them. No. If they cut deep then it just means you have to grow a pair and look deeper into why this person would be so mad when you can't understand. If you can't understand a persons argument then it means you don't have the right to fight back.

The newspaper clipping was not the capitol building, it was Wayne Tower, that was destroyed during the Zod attack. Also about the ship the reason it let Luthor assume command, is if you remember in "Man of Steel" Zop put in a command key into the ship that crashed (The stone that was sucked out of Luthors hand into the port) that made it so whoever inserted the key would be allowed to run the ship, so that he could purge the Jor'El AI out of the ship's computer, and use the Genesis Chamber.

Cause enough is enough. I feel like the last weeks broke his patiente. He does an angry review of a game he chose on his own? COmplains. He does DOom? COmplains about lenght and why UNcharted was not chosen. He does rapidfire reviews to deal with games he wanted but not covered? Complains Batman v Superman extended cut? Complains Enough is enough, the patiente of a man can only last for a while and if people is not going to bother giving helpfull or proper comments, then better to not have them.
