Very nice video. And really helpful. If I ever do an engine flush. I always drain it like you did and change the filter. I alway feel you have added additives to thin the oil and flush etc. But I think it won't all come out. So I do another 20 mins with cheapish oil and new filter. Then drain again and new filer and good oil

Yeah i want to do another test on a high mileage 225, remove the rocker cover and sump before the flush, then assess it after, and see how well it cleans with a few passes

@BWSTT there is also 2 types of fish stuff either like the Wynns in a can of bottle where you add it to your oil. Or there is another type where you drain all the oil the refill with flushing oil. And the run 20 mins etc etc

@@BWSTTBG Epr will be the strongest flush on the market, and in most cases when done with a few oil / filter changes will increase Compression 👌

I'm not familiar with the -3,-4 & -7 , -7 tolerance numbers you are referring to. What are those and how do they indicate a end of life engine?
@BWSTT
@BWSTT Жыл бұрын
As the chains stretch, the cam adjusters can take up that slack to bring the timing back to where it should be. The range if their adjustment is from -8 to +8 and there is 2 of them. A healthy engine will have both readings the same as each other, with in a deviance of 2. So, -3-4 is good, -1-4 is bad, -8-8 is bad -6-7 is nearly done

put some kerosene in with the oil and idle it for a decent while and drop the oil again this helps clean the engine loads .. use flushing oil too that is better
@ozzyosbourne5866

What does that mean? The engine chain is stretched? I changed my drive chain that works my cam shaft on my 225 only becuz its done 180k so made sense at the time
@BWSTT
@BWSTT Жыл бұрын
The chain on a 1.8 just links the 2 cams, the belt connects the exhaust cam to the crank. On the 3.2 there are 2 chains, an upper and a lower, that time the crank to the cams. The adjusters on the cams can only take up a certain amount of slack, this engine is at the end of that tolerance

That's rotten luck dishonest seller but as you said in earlier comments about doing another flush on a 225 before and after is a good idea. Just don't do too many on the same engine I had a buddy who did a flush every third service on his car and it ruined the engine after the 3rd time around 80k it smoked like an old ford cvh engine
