Wow, great stuff! I recently trialled and then purchased this plugin and I was like blown away by the sound it gives. The only slappy thing to me was the presets was really limited. I was wondering where one can find some nice piano presets and now I come across your tutorial here. Thanks so much. To learn and use this console plugin is fairly easy, but the tips and tricks that goes with it is another. It takes you to another level. Thanks for sharing. Would be nice if you can do another tutorial using this console just focusing on Eq'ing and applying effects on instruments and perhaps vocals.

Real nice review. Consice, no chitter chatter, and right to the point. I purchased the 9099 taday and its fantastic! Reminds me of my old TAC Scorion Console (Amek components) from years ago. Thanks for the great review.

I just snagged it for $11. The GUI is really beautiful. Can't wait to test it out on a mix. Does the input gain knob act like an actual preamp, or just volume?

@Neon Thunderbird No, it was before that sale. I can't remember exactly, but I was able to stack my monthly voucher and it ended up $11. It's totally worth $25 as well. The clipping in parallel sounds great and is a real time-saver.

@Neon Thunderbird The limiter section of the 9099 has a clipping function... hard and soft. You lower the threshold to get the desired clipping/saturation you want and then you can blend it in with the mix knob. This is great for vocals, where you want to add some subtle character and thickness, but don't want the full audible effect of clipping, as you would use on a snare

Can you do a video on how you do your voice over for your videos? Or just explain here.

Sure, I just use an EV RE20 mic with an SE dynamite inline preamp into a UA Apollo x6 interface. The Apollo is doing a tiny bit of processing, mostly just a light gate and some de-essing. The vocal is recorded to a separate track in Screenflow. No other processing.
