If you're not muslim and don't know arabic, both the chef and callers were disrespectful. The callers shouldn't have said disgusting things like that, and the chef COULD have said something along the lines of "we're all muslim, we shouldn't treat each other like this" etc. but instead he, although without vulgar words, insulted the religious beliefs of millions of unrelated people, AND brought up war tragedies against them like he's glad they happened. Sure, the callers were the instigators, but the chef was unwise in his response.

Not saying it's justified, but the chef probably had experienced this alot, and this kind of talk from shia is just unacceptable, them just saying these things just isn't going to fly and wanting him to advise them with nice words probably won't really work given that he kept experiencing these behaviors constantly and this sort of shit talk. Sure the chef was quite aggresive and surely didn't cool down the situation which would be the ideal islamic approach to be patient, but I can get it, especially when they come to a cooking show just to provoke him, like honestly that's just a low blow and quite cringe.
