Something I strongly suggest when marking territory, is finding where three hex’s meet and marking the scent posts really close together because that will help with marking in the future

i like to set a path through the borders of my hexes and set the markers there. it’ll change as i move dens, but only when i need to spend the day/night fixing up territory. it’s a nice strategy if you like patterns.

A good idea to find the den is woof the mate home then follow him back

Also if he is already at home, howling sometimes will cause the mate to howl back, so memorizing their howl to follow home could be helpful. It depends on how social they are, though.

Heres some tips for not seeing the elk’s health?. When you find an elk herd, get them to run and see which elk is the furthest away from the herd. Chase the elk herd down, and if one or some are slow, it may be best to go for them. I can’t say this is the best thing to do, because i’ve never actually done this, but it’s best if you remember what you’ve already done and remember from earlier runs (unless that is your first run lol) (this is for really everyone to observe) but all i know here (remark) is Chase the elk, some elk will be slower then others because they have lower health. When not seeing your health, stamina, hunger and sleep, etc best thing to do is be extremely careful of really anything you do especially hunting and fighting (along with marking). Do NOT play around making your wolf fall off cliffs, jumping down from higher places, running into pack territories for no reason, etc. Moral of the story be extremely cautious about any move you do either way. I personally don’t know how i started this but be careful with your moves! If your an iron wolf, do not play around with danger. If you have no hud, be careful, be prepared and keep an eye on the stuff around you. While i’m writing this, im thinking about doing an iron wolf run (leaving my wolf Lupine for another time because can’t be bothered and there the only point is to do a Lupine Iron wolf run. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR MOVES AND WATCH THE THINGS AROUND YOU. DO NOT JUST PLAY AROUND KILLING YOUR SELF ESPECIALLY AS AN IRON WOLF. And have fun playing this game if you do. Have a good day. xx 4:01

You've got this ;) Not an easy one for sure but it can be done! Sickness will be rough. No way to know you are close to the pup unless all are gathered around you. I've dabbled with this a bit myself but always gone back for the hud. Your once a day rule could be the ticket to me giving it a good go for real. I do like the idea of no hud... just cant not know whats happening! Guess I'm a micro manager 😂

A great way to find a mate is stay near a carcass and sleep while howling before sleeping

A tip for hunting elk; run around the edge of the herd while they're holding their ground, just out of reach of the elk, and if any of the cows run out to kick at you aggressively as you go by, they're most likely low!

I have a suggestion, that Jay might fail, but its a very interesting challenge! Ultra Realism, where you can't have music, no HUD, no map, no tabs, no nametags. You can't even look at map or tabs even in places where you would like to or have to. (For you though, I'll allow when marking territory, because I feel like you'd struggle a lot). Don't mind if you don't do it!

Oh this looks Fun! I'll admit I was a bit disappointed when you said you'd look at stats once a day- but I was less disappointed that it's after a full nights sleep! I notice my injuries at bedtime too + if you can't sleep a full night you don't earn the info (is that what you meant? It would make sick pups so risky). I love WQ challenges I just am no good at coming up with them myself : , )

That's the idea! Generally your status will be at its peak after sleeping anyway, but any changes after that point you'll have to guess! Sick pups are definitely gonna be risky, both from that and because you can't see if the heart is actually glowing. I think I'll allow it whether it's a full night or not, but only once per day, after dawn (since I usually sleep through night when I can help it). So it's a little bonus, but still very limited. When I did my test runs for this I was going a little insane when I tried not to look at stats at all, so I figured after resting would be a good compromise-- especially given that stats like weight make for important milemarkers on the KZbin side of things haha. It helps me figure out how long a series needs to be. So I figured this would be the best middle ground!
