I didn't really think he was that nice until this video. His focus and offense and effort on defense is on point. Jimmy Butler is definitely in the conversation of best current 2 way player in the league. The Wolves are going to be very interesting to watch this upcoming season.

Auston David Johnson Did you just say IT is close to Lowrys level on defense? Lowry is an above average defender while IT is one of the worst, if not the worst defenders in the league. Lowry had more steals per game, blocks and defensive win shares than IT. Also, your point about the Raptors defense being bad is incorrect, as they are actually a top 10 team defensively, with a Defensive Rating of 104, which places them 8th. Next, 2 assists a game is actually alot over the course of a season. And looking only at assists when discussing playmaking would be a mistake. Lowry has a better assist to turnover ratio, a better assist ratio, all with 9% less usage rate (By the way, that is a huge difference). Further, Lowry also shot just over 3% better from 3 than IT, while making the same amount per game. Also, IT was assisted on 60% of his threes compared to Lowry being assisted on only 52% of his. Therefore, Lowry is in fact a better overall player than IT.

Stevens did an amazing thing with IT this past year, but Lowry's been producing like an All Star for at least five years (though IT IS a better shooter than him). He's a plus defender at six foot flat! That shit ain't easy. Oh, and if you see clips of the Raptors showing DeRozan dunking on folks? Remember that DeRozan is SO BAD at defense that he barely had more wins above replacement than 40 YEAR OLD MANU last year. Lowry carries his ass.
