This time we drive the official test car from BYD up Genting. The most noticeable thing is the extreme quiet, almost serene pace of the climb.

I totally agree with you regarding switching on your headlights. This is more so here in Australia, where we are prone to early morning fog. Unfortunately not ALL drivers have this mindset and they sometimes become a hazard as a result. Must be a strange feeling for you, after having driven cars with internal combustion engines. I am considering buying an EV and videos like this certainly help me with my decision. Thank you.

Every power response are in instant and no hiccups nor leggings especially up the mountain. Just so effortless, so powerful in silence. Like what we all experienced along with Uncle YS when he drive that Tesla Model 3 Long Range... EV of today are so superior and no doubt about that. Thanks to the existing premier and government for making it an effort to support elevating this new era of automotive and climate conservation. Hope for more incentive and rebate plus accessible price of any new Make and model of EVs on our shore.... It's time for transition from ICE to EV. 😉

@@aircommandslipperz this is our biggest problem. Look at RFID implementation, only our government still allow toll operator to have 1 lane for RFID and multiple lane for TNG card and the aim is to promote RFID usage but action is to make RFID users suffers. Our government controlling the cheaper EV to come into Malaysia is very dangerous for the industry to grow. With slow or lesser EVs the charging stations take longer period to recover their investment thus the rate will increase quickly. Our government should open up to allow more EV to come in without excise duty and reduce fuel subsidy at the same time. Hope that they will wake up and do the right thing

It looks like more performance oriented tires with stiffer sidewalls and polyurethane swaybar bushings (especially at the rear) could make a big difference in handling for little in the way of money or difficulty. Potentially monotubes on the rear as well (if they are available). Whille there seems to be some initial body roll, once the suspension loads up, it looks very controlled.

OK, here's something I have always wondered coz I never hear local car reviewers even talk about it despite knowing how important it is in our climate: How much power does the aircond suck away from the battery? And how quick is it in cooling down a hot cabin under the noon sun compared to the traditional pulley-operated compressor with a magnetic clutch? Will it drastically reduce the range? Will you have to sweat when stuck in traffic and you're nowhere near a charging station?
@YSKhongDriving11 ай бұрын
It takes about 1 kW an hour, so unless you are near tbe end of your battery life, there is nothing to worry about.
@alihms10 ай бұрын
I saw somewhere, for a typical 400km range EV, the aircond reduces the range for about 30km per charge. I can't trace back where I saw that info, so take it with a pinch of salt.
@kongming20058 ай бұрын
EV is definitely more efficient in terms of its share for a/c and also traffic jam in comparison to ICE ya. Do note that EV only "spent" when the driver command it, not like ICE where the engine continue to run and using belt and others meaning energy lost and when the car is not moving or moving slowly, the waste to run the aircond is even higher

Thank You Uncle Khong. This looks like more fun than a Hyundai i20N. It looks engaging, trying to be smooth and quick whilst limiting wheelspin and preserving the remaining range.
