I wouldn't be so sure of that. It's bigger and heavier than the MY... "Curb weight is 2385 kg. Song L is 90mm longer, 29mm wider, 64mm lower, and 40mm longer in wheelbase than the Tesla Model Y. The EV will come with 19″ and 20″ wheels options."

The active suspension changes the ride height by reading the road ahead of it. It will not hit speed bumps, driveways, etc. because the suspension rises to prevent it. I would not focus on the static height measurement of the vehicle because it varies when driving.

Yes, would absolutely want to purchase this BYD model for the price of 35.000 USD! Remember the Atto 3 in Norway cost 43.000 USD on special offer in August. There is no VAT on this car, but a small tax, approx. 1.500 USD. But of course the importer will make a huge mark--up. The price might be closer to 60.000 USD in Norway. Sadly! 😑And it will probably not be available within 12 months. The Seal sedan has not even arrived yet....

The warranty policy of this Song L has not been officially announced yet. Refer to BYD N7, in order to eliminate the user's worries about this relatively new suspension system, a lifetime warranty is provided.Of course, this is China's guarantee policy, and it may be the same as a complete car when sold to other countries.

Good looking car. But a bit too big and heavy. In the Netherlands, road tax is based on car weight. As a in incentive EV's have had €0 road tax for years, but soon this free ride is coming to an end, and I fear this will mean mass export of business EV's after their 4 to 5 year lease period, just as the Hybrid cars before them. This is because almost no one with a low yearly mileage wants to pay road tax at these excessive weight levels.

@@knuth.nyhagen82 A lot of them go to Norway when the lease expires. I do not have a breakdown per country, but in 2022 we exported 4540 EV's and 3558 Plugin Hybrids. All of those were heavily subsidised, so that is money down the drain. Meanwhile we import a lot of used petrol cars from Germany to avoid the insane BPM tax based on theoretical CO2 values.

Personally I prefer the look of the Seal..... For me though I'll always want an SUV for the main family car and a 4 door sedan for myself. I've the Seal Performance on the way on novated lease and we'll continue to use our Pajero Sport as the family car until EV's get to a point where much larger batteries are available at a lower cost, then it may be viable to have bother cars as EV's. I'll think about it at the time.

Love the vids, I recently bought a BYD Atto 3 Irish version, design. on the back of your reviews, love the car, but I am confused on Cables, When I plug in at home it charges at 7kw this is ok because charger is 7kw, wondering if I put in 11kw would that have been better? when at work, work chargers can go to 22kw, but car only charges at 10kw is this my cable or car only able to go to 11kw? when in 50kw in town, it does 49kw or so this looks ok. I was just wondering is there a different cables I can use to get the full 22kw at work? also Is there an adapter to use for Tesla chargers? thanks Sam.

You need to be clear about 1: what cable do you use, CCS (DC fast charging) or Type 2 (AC charging, charging gun shapes identical to your BYD 1.5 kw trickle charger) and 2: your battery charge % when you get 11kw charge speed.

If you are not in a hurry, low-power charging is better for the battery. It's great to have 7KW charging in your home. Charging at night is enough until the next morning. In China, those who have charging piles at home are generally set to automatically start charging at 0:00. Because electricity is very cheap during this time period, it only costs about 0.04€/kWh.

Hey Sam, did you get a chance to see the video on the Tesla model three owner of a 2023 version with the new batteries in it? He charged from 0 to 100 at a supercharger and except for a brief 140 kWh peak -didn’t get more than about 75kw per hour…

As far as i know, a 4-door car is never a coupe. A coupe is: "a closed roof, 2-door passenger car with a three-box body for the engine and the passenger compartment". So, since it has 4 doors, it indeed it is a more in line of what they call "a shooting-brake". A shooting-brake can be both, 2-door and 4-door. But to my eyes, it looks reasonable, . . . . for a 4-door car.

As a BYD investor I’m beginning to lose faith in the choice of models. They seem to be making lots of sedan style cars yet as the Viking has said about the utility vehicle they are making as a hybrid is a big mistake. An all electric one would be a leader as the only competition is the F150 lightning and the coming soon cybertruck so a cheaper version would steal the market. Also the market is crying out for a van. Surely BYD can make and export a van. Transit sell by the shedload in the uk and it’s too expensive in the electric version. BYD could make a killing.

Definitely not for me. It lacks the practicality of an SUV as well as lacking in a sporty coupe. Add in the under body damage from being too low & I could see this being one big headache for owners.

i would choose TESLA especially out of China... reason reliability.. Tesla has 3 main models they are focused and constantly improving .. BYD has 50 models and they would likely just get completely new model rather to fix or improve old ones 🤔

If you want to look like every second BEV owner, then buy a Model Y. If you want to look ugly (3:39 to 3:40, for example), then buy this BYD. But it's a fair bet that they'll start at around £45,000 if they ever arrive in the U.K. If that happens, they will need to be exceptional in order to sell well. People will buy a Y ® or maybe a 3 instead.
