i wish you'll be able in the future to do 1000 kms challenge, because it's a big test for the cars, you learn and teach so much with this test. It's your homemade, if you understand me. Anyway, you're the king and i understand your needs. Thanks for all, Bjorn. Sorry for my english as a french. 😉

I think the estimated 1000km times are perfectly fine. You've done it so many times that using some charging analysis from multiple charging tests (including back to back) you should be able to get a good estimate of how long it will take

Don‘t forget that BYD will pay 17% of EU tarrifs, so they will become more expensive in the future
@somerealrandomguy7 ай бұрын
Not Norway, Norway is not part of EU and has stated there will be no tariff.
@rmkkkk7 ай бұрын
Also, BYD has so much margin in the price, they will probably just cut their margin exactly 17%

And BYD is building a factory in Hungary - so no extra tariffs in the future.

550V! Would this car charge poorly on a Supercharger or other "400V" charger? Those are usually limited to like 500V right?

500V
@OenkePoenke7 ай бұрын
@@DerBlauzahn ID.3 58 kWh goes upto 460V at 100% and I've never heard of problems even at oldest triple chargers, nor SC of course. The spec of nominal 400V goes upto 500V (like 800V nominal goes upto 1000V), but I don't know if all 400V charges can deliver that. 500V is definitely over spec. Would really be interesting to see how the seal U behaves at a 400V CCS charger.

I like the estimation videos which shows some behind the scene stuff. Maybe you could make that same for the 1000km BYD Seal Performance challenge as well. And then show add the normal video to proof how good you are in estimating :)

oThre are little to none fast chargers capable of 140 kW power in my country, most of them are 50-100kW - this explains why this car is so popular and nobody complaints about rapidgate. Looks like it is capable of charging at 100kW without rapidgtating for much-much longer so noone will notice this as an issue.

You know what's disappointing with these BYD cars? I drive the 2019 model Kona EV with the 64 kWh battery pack. It's the one that I've picked when I saw your videos with it. A brilliant car that soon will pass the 200'000 km mark. My car charges slow... dog slow. In good weather I normally get around 45 minutes for the 10-80% interval. Fast forward a bit and the so called "better" Chinese cars barely get the fast-charge waiting times down. And while I understand that this can be challenging, I'm totally dismissing this, because BYD ships batteries for Tesla Model Y SR. Those batteries charge blistering fast and I bet they can put them in these cars as well without any cost increase, despite the bigger battery capacity. It just annoys me to see we are still forced to get crappy battery technology after so many years of R&D, or they are selling them stupidly expensive, like the Volvo EXs.

what does it matter, if a car makes more to 10h or more to 11h. This differences are to maginal test. so this interpolation is a good way 👍. Also a small car which needs 14h is not worth the time, because the real world use interesting to less viewers. Also 8h with petrol car and 9:30h with Tesla is a "big difference" but not when you need to make a break with the gas car. Or you need to make more drama in your videos, like all this nonsense channels on yt. Make pranks, rob a bank... hit and run the police. fist fighting against other KZbinrs. Crypto scams... 🤣

It's not about the time it takes, but all the technical challenges manufacturers have to work on to optimize their cars. the 1000km challenge is also well known for the past 6 years to be Bjorn's challenge for all the EV testing, and people like it. you are really stretching it with your negativity
