@@HKChineseCanadian I have commented on a poor car review. The West have not done a comprehensive review of the Tang.. just one serious example.. and there are others.. the Infotainment System is no good functionality not good, glare from screen no good pale lighting on screen.. yet they add a mechanical function to change the screen from portrait to landscape.. but they do nothing to attend to the Infotainment System. The reviewer was clearly honest .. the seats on the EA1 (not the car reviewed here but are very substandard plastic)... i could go on .. did you read hi s review .. it was not good by any measure. It will arise with other reviews if they are honest .. reality Is BYD stupid mantra us 'just get the cars out' . In Australia we get independent reviews to put the blowtorch to BYD ... virtually noone has here in Aus.. If it measures up I'll say so. It didn't at all..Acknowledge the poor review items yourself spell them out. The flaws aren't good.. name them then you have credibility

@@HKChineseCanadian I told you, the review made of it was lousy.. the West has got some top engineers say here in Australia to put the blowtorch to it to really evaluate the car. We need that. Until then, byd is the new boy on the block.. they make batteries.. they are new to cars . For example only, the Chinese MG are not good at handling roundabouts or windy roads.. lest not rush with the EAN or Yuan Plus till we put the blowtorch to them in comprehensive reviews. The West ( top car reviewers).really do undertake thorough reviews.. there are big questions marks over Infotainment systems, handling, noisy cabins , poor insulation and or design input to this, road noise . Thats what they have to pass .. the test for a newcomer like byd must be undertaken.. they are new

@@VikingAge Most cars that are sold in Norway these days are electric. Yes, the range is considerably reduced in the winter. The buyers know about this but still buy these cars because there have been no taxes on them until now. Considering that there only live 5 million people in Norway we have been one of the countries that have bought the biggest number of electric cars until now. A lot of new makers of these cars have started their sale in Norway before a lot of the bigger nations. Of Chinese made cars we can now buy BYD,Nio, Polestar, Peng and Hongqi. Other brands have also found their way here.

@@runedahl1477 oh, I understand now MR. Rune. in fact i live in GuangZhou City China. At present, all bus taxis UBER(DIDI) are almost all lithium battery cars in our province, because the minimum temperature here is 6 degrees in winter, so there are a lot of lithium electric vehicles in our country, BYD and TESLA are the best sold electric vehicle brands. in Guangzhou city I live, 20% of our buses are hydrogen fuel cells and the others are lithium battery buses. There are almost no gas fuel bus and taxis in the southern provinces of China. my family have two cars, but they are both gas fuel cars, but we are more accustomed to taking the bus. I take to work every day by the hydrogen fuel bus. it makes a little noise when it is running, but it is much smaller than the gas fuel bus. The hydrogen fuel cell discharges water, so you can see there is a little water near the bus sation. I think hydrogen fuel cells are the best choice for the future of mankind

@@VikingAge Electric cars are very popular here in Norway due to taxation of them. Also a lot of Chinese brands are sold here. We now have Hongqi, Nio and a few others as well. The first battery change station for Nio outside of China was actually set up in Norway . Hongqi is a massive car filled with luxury but still fairly cheap compared similar combustion cars. From an environmental perspective electric cars are perfect for this country since almost all of our electricity is from hydroelectric power plants. The numbers of fast chargers has also grown considerably over the last years. There are also plans to build hydrogen factories but that will most likely be made out of natural gas from the North Sea. On a global scale electric cars is probably not a good idea yet. The electricity has to be made one way or the other. Few countries have as many waterfalls as we have and wind and solar energy is not reliable enough. However it is not all bad because a lot of countries and companies are trying to develop nuclear energy based on so called molten salt reactors. If they succeed, and I think they will the world will be provide with energy for centuries to come. One of the most interesting projects started in China last September. They have set up a test plant in the Gobi desert that will be able to supply 2000 households with electricity. Unlike traditional reactors this type of reactor does not require a lot of water for cooling. If successful they will start to mass produce this type of reactor with much higher capacity by 2030.

Obviously not, they have sold more than 1000 cars already. I think the price is very competitive although it is quite much more expensive than in China. I'll get mine next week. Looking at BYD Cambodias Facebook page, the local price for a top spec model is not far off the price in Norway!

@@discoking7188 Looks like it was a difficult sale after all. Last autumn, the importer of BYD said that he would quit his job if he did not sell the 1,500 cars he had ordered during 2021, and that the price of Tang would increase on 1 January 2022. None of this has happened. So far this year (17.02.2022) they have only sold a total of 1216 cars since launch, and 47 of them are on sale as demo cars.

I agree they were a little cocky in that they said that, however, I think the reason for not reaching their estimate is the fact that they (RSA) obviously suck at marketing this car. This car is being on sale in China for some months, so I thought all those usability nags, that can be corrected by a software update, should already be a thing of the past. I’m not seeing that they will change much on the customer cars, and less if those cars are already on the way to Norway. And the lack of brightness of the displays. Well, you can’t change everything with software. Displays with low brightness are much cheaper than displays with high brightness, and if you want to go the cheaper way then you have to add something to prevent glare. My conclusion, this is a big car for not that much money, but I have some doubt that it will keep the value over time, but time will tell.🤷‍♂️

Kris for the majority of people 60k is a lot of money. Middle classes won't drive the ev revolution it's cars between 20 to 30k that will appeal to the majority of people who want to move from their ice to a EV. This is where Xpeng and Byd come in. European manufacturers need to get their fingers out their,,,. Because China cars are coming and have the best tech longer range and way cheaper than any other cars out there. Legacy automakers are still reliant on there ice cars and if you want a EV from Ford to hyundai you are waiting 6 to 9 months. Chip shortage is an excuse but they are way behind on battery supply. Look at byd massive company not just cars buses trucks etc. Even Toyota will be using their blade battery which is a industry leader. BYD build everything in their car battery motor seats etc. Only tesla are a comparison. Byd have plans within the next 2 years to have 500 mile EVs that will be affordable and have the latest tech with long term warranty. . Its looking good for consumers but a lot of European car manufactures will need government support just to survive.

Oh dear, 60k for this BYD Tang is big big dollars. In Australia, that’s about $ 80 k, probably more …like to know the kerb weight, and handling on windy roads. Have grave doubts. Oh and road noise is a show shopper .. BYD has a long way to go .. so it’s healthy to get honest feedback .. This guy is very very trustworthy.. thank you.. So, let’s get started. The design is old hat.. a boring look, very. My general conclusion is that BYD are third rate in fit out .. plasticy and cheap.. they’ll need to get that fixed .. glare and lack of brightness on infotainment system is a serious show stopper .. he also says there is limited functionality . This is serious stuff. VW stuffed it’s infotainment system on ID 4, BYD are juniors in everything but batteries, so prepare for .. inferiority. The only mantra at BYD is ‘get the cars out’, senior executives there have only one KPI, until the world falls apart with its lousy quality. Just imagine what a meal they are going to make of all this sub standard quality. Despite all the hype, they’re going to make a lot of own goals. BYD need to get serious about presenting a complete car, they need to be told now to invest in quality.. and if they don’t, believe me, we will label them rightly as … lemons, just like what happened to Hyundai .. with the Excel.. it was rubbish. In this digital age, a poor review, particularly when the lousy stuff isn’t fixed, will bury them. As the review continues, the conclusion is that this BYD is cheap and nasty .. the screen looks lousy. I have banged on before about my grave doubts that the BYD infotainment doing a great job. It is p week .. omg .. You know something, all BYDs that will released next year.. EA1 and YUAN plus, for example, will be well below the quality what you get with, say, in most US cars . The BYD strategy to pump out cars with shite systems .. and not care .. will bite them and Buffet badly. Westerners will reject them, and BYD will fail quickly if it doesn’t embrace .. quality ..it’s looking poor for them. I say to BYD, send these shite cars to the non discerning Chinese public.. they just want a car that goes from a to b, truly. Westerners don’t want basic shite though, they don’t.

@@phoarey I'm getting sick of Sam Evans promoting his vested interest in BYD. He is trashing authenticity when it is clear that in the West in particular byd has not had the blow torch put to their cars. Evans never ever reads out to us the poor reviews, he only responds to good stuff and to people who agree with him. The Pang review recently would put you off .. completely .. significant issues with a third rate Infotainment System.. both its hardware and software... its gunna being a mass produced lemon .. to meet the mission statement of get" the cars out," Someone challenged my statement that Pang had a poor review, by asserting that there atecgoid reviews.. Thats complete rubbish ... no one with half a brain would ignore the poor review I found... noone .. unless they just wanted a car and didn't care that it was lousy .. these people exist

@@abraxastulammo9940 E-tron's battery is from the Chinese (CATL), as are battery control software, various controllers, and so on and son. By component value, it is mostly a Chinese car. The Germans stamped the body, the suspension, and other metal bits. The Germans had to rely on the Chinese because they have fallen very far behind in electric cars, while the Chinese now own the entire ecosystem for electric cars. There might still be time for the Germans to mount a defense, but they've already gotten to a late start.
