I bought the ZX5 Mk ii and absolutely love it. Had a Ping G425LST previously and find this one to be vastly more forgiving and longer. The sounds is no issues on the course and much less than the Ping. Strongly recommend it.

Second this, I have the LS one. Coming from ZX7 I can say the sound is actually less pitched compared to MK1 which has carbon on it. MK1 is actually closer to older all titanium driver sound and hollower, the MK II is more meaty.

@@ariesnc6320 Have never come across that particular model to try, but my friend played with me using Z545 model, well that one sounds quite awful I would say. Not in a obnoxious loud sound but more like you don't hit the sweet spot, very muted and dead I'd say. But yeah that is us, mere mortal that swing with human speed, maybe those with higher swing speed find it different.

I had a driver fitting today and it came down to the zx5 and the paradigm, had to go with the Srixon. I then hit a few shots with the 3 wood and the 3 hybrid, those felt incredible as well. I’m not a brand guy at all, I had no intention to even hit the srixons but I’m glad I did. The same thing happened with my iron fitting last year, I wanted the p770s but ended up with the zx7s lol maybe I’ll stop doubting Srixon now

My biggest pain point with the MK1 is the loud piercing metallic sound. Sadly I mishit my driver and have a horizontal crack along the carbon crown. Thought about going to the MK2 but couldn't justify the markup price wise.. decided to go with the BRNR mini at 11.5 degrees when it was onsale instead.

Gosh Michael. All but one of your hits went over 100+ in height. You seem to hit all your hits in the fairway. At 72 y/o my great game day is to hit the ball high and in the fairway. I have the Cleveland Halo irons and they do that for me. I'm looking for a driver now. I'll wait for all your reviews on this years brand models but Srison is in the running for me now. Thank you. I love the way your hit the ball.

I think the shorter distance observed for MK2 vs the Original - 2 years ago - Is the time of day/season of testing - The original looked like day-time conditions (Sep 2020-Autumn) whereas these MK2 looks like they were tested during night-time conditions (Dec 2022-Winter)? If you watch Mark Crossfield's videos - both generations done indoors - See improvement in distances for MK2

Just an issue I’d like to see you add in your reviews of clubs w/adjustable hosels; please clarify exactly how adjustments are executed. By that I mean, the brilliant Titleist SureFit allows independent adjustment of loft & lie, in .75* increments for both; up to +/- 1.5* for each. My previous Mizuno ST220G employs a single plane hosel thus a change in loft resulted in change in lie and visa versa. For me, that’s a significant difference in the drivers, especially if the standard setting loft and lie are not ideal. One other issue on this video in particular, I don’t like when oe’s and reviewers claim moveable weights in heads is for shot shaping. Yes, moving weights fore-aft in head does affect MOI and thus spin. Move them toe to heel or visa versa is not for shot shape, it’s to improve performance on off center strikes. You want greatest mass, the CG as it were, to be directly behind ball. If your misses are toward toe, put the heavier sole weight at toe and you’ll find much better ball speed on those toe strikes. If your misses are toward heel, place heavier weight toward heel. The weights are simply to improve results on mishits, creating a more forgiving clubhead for your particular strike pattern

@ryanwalters694
@ryanwalters694 Жыл бұрын
Swing speed and strike efficiency greatly impact ball speed. If you’re swinging titanium and only muster 101mph then perhaps going carbon and a lighter shaft weight to increase swing speed and if your smash factor is is around 1.41 or higher, you should see an increase in ball speed. Hope this helps

I just watched your first edition ZX5 and ZX7 drivers video and yes, the very 1st ball you hit carried 307.2 and total of 331 yards! This video although clubhead speed was maybe less that 1 mph slower no shot comes close. Even your bad hits went much longer than 315 yards. I’ll buy the older version, for a 30+ yard gain and a better price by now.

He is hitting from his bay to an outdoor range, so it's hard to compare separate videos because he could've hit straight down wind that day and into wind in this video, which would account for the difference. He said he'll do a head to head comparison of the models, so when he does that he'll be hitting in the same conditions.

Here is what is interesting: your previous Srixon video ZX 5 -7 with carbon crown you were hitting over 300 and carrying to 331 , the video This newer model you never even reach 300 yards so it sounds like they have dialed back the driver ?? Can’t say it’s a better club when 30 yards shorter consistently… per your video …. Still think Srixon ZX 5 and 7 from 2021 is hotter … everyone watch that great video

Interesting that this head looks just like the Callaway XHot Driver from over a decade ago. Top profile and geometry is exactly the same with almost the same matte paint scheme and graphics but in black vs. grey for the XHot. Even bottom and rear geometry is similar minus the adjustable weights. I guess these companies will just recycle each others designs as the patents expire. And of course XHot was all titanium.

I like the look of these but the ZX7 should come with 2 6g weights aswell so you dont have to have a bias in there at all, I know people will say custom fit blah blah, im just saying as they offer the weights they should include the 2 equal weights with it as standard aswell so you can have a neutral weight setup. I also wonder how many uk custom fit centers will have all the extra weights to test, I guess I know the answer, non of them.........

I bought the Stealth Plus last year Michael. Loved the concept of a full carbonwood. I like it but something wasn't quite right. So I tried the TSR3 which I now have in the bag. I think Srixon are on the same lines of thinking as Titleist. The Titleist is possibly the pinnacle of all titanium and the Stealth still seems to be lagging because essentially it's still only a concept. I'd be happy to put the ZX7 in play too with the right shaft.

@@John_Wood_ I’ll just preface this by saying I am no TM fanboy, have never played their drivers as I hated the look with the white/grey section at the front of the crown. But your statement is just not true. A carbon-fiber face REPLACES the titanium construction. It’s in writing all over the web. The face weighs 40% less, and there’s no way you can get that weight saving if there’s titanium behind the carbon.

@@John_Wood_ I’ve seen the pics too. It’s just the red “Nanotexture” polyurethane layer that’s come off. It’s supposed to be bonded (glued?) to the actual carbon face to help control spin. At first it looks like titanium underneath, cos it’s silver/grey in colour but it’s definitely carbon fibre.
