Back in 2014 , I remember Byju's Sales executive calling me for educational counselling of my child and asking about studies, duration of study etc and he wanted a personal appointment with my child and parents . The methodology was towards creating insecurity in child's & parents mind that the child is not good enough and he will be left behind if not enrolled into their program. I straight away refused any kind of interaction with them . They conducted some crap exam in school and got parents number and contacted us. Now I feel proud that I did not fall into Byju's trap and without the help of Byju's , this year , my child has cleared JEE ADV with good rank and has joined India's Premier institute for higher education . Parents just need to believe in child's capabilities whether its Academic or non academic and support their growth , rather than depending on such cheap Marketing gimmicks. We parents know our child better than anyone else.

I have also clearly said that Parents can identify children's talent , Academic or non-Academic and support the growth in that area , rather someone else creating insecurity in child's mind and destroying their self confidence at grass root level. I feel proud that , I didn't allow a greedy money minded company to create doubt in my child's mind about his capabilities as I knew my child better than Byju's.

We should think why apps like these succeed in India. 1. Poor teachers and teaching culture in schools. If schools did their job properly, nobody really needed an extra tution. 2. Parents who consider their children as race horses. Everyone wants to equip their horses with stuffs that the other horse doesn't have. There is a 7 year old boy who used to come to my home to take tution from my mother. One day he opened up to us which literally left me wet eyed. "I have classes from morning to evening, then 1 hour tution here, then 1 hour in madrassa, when will I play? Let me play with chettan (me) for sometime.."

Exactly! I was also wondering always about the first point you've stated. We pay fees and go to schools and be there for many hiurs only to later pay fee and go for tution. I personally knew some teachers who wouldn't teach kids properly in schools so that the same kids would go to them for tution. I mean, why would someone do that?!

But taking tuition at home is a mode of income for many people (especially women who don't/can't work outside). I have seen young kids taking tuition for younger ones. I have seen low income middle class families taking classes. Teachers don't teach properly because they also came from the regressive outdated education system that focuses only on completing syllabus and non introduction of out of the box learning methodology. The main problem is, if students won't score good percentage they won't get admission in desired colleges(top ones/govt) to get that parents/teachers force them to study hard. But in India, students are undergoing stress and suicide rates are going up. School has never taught us the need of learning that particular subject. What are the employment opportunities related to that subject? Student struggle a lot in making a career decision after 10th and ultimately chooses wrong path.

He did quit the job because he saw a smart kid cry and saying to his parents he is not competent enough for a test Byjus conducted and which they made sure the kid won’t pass. You have presented the information very neatly and correctly, When I was in Chennai few years back, I listened to a auto driver telling me how he got cheated by Byju's , the sales team made the auto driver fear that his son is not up to the mark even though the child was one of the top student in his class. They made him attend demo class and made the auto driver buy courses worth 1 lakh and gave him a tablet for free...But as days went the mentor was not available as you said in the video and when he asked for refund they started threatening him, they even threatened to file complaint and believe it or not they warned him with the help of corrupt police in Chennai. He happened to pay the whole sum with interest (all for nothing). I am VERY MUCH happy about whats happening to the Byjus and their crooked sales team. Many of the comments from non subscribers of Bajus. I subscribed Bajus for my kids. Kid1 studied standard 1 and 2 with the app and other one studied LKG and UKG. It was very good. The curriculum is very good. Whenever I contacted them they replied over phone. If the child is not complete their lessons in the stipulated time, they will call and enquire about it. I am satisfied with their product and their service. Now I am not in India. What they studied through Baijus, it helped when we reached an English speaking country. I just shared my experience with Baijus.

In 2022 i attempted Byju's UPSC Scholarship Exam and a Byju's Lady Counselor did video call with me & told that i was topper in that Exam & tried to brain wash me to join Byju's. And they told to pay 5,000 Rupees immediately that day itself to Reserve seat at Byju's. I got Brain washed but Luckily My parents told about the problems with Byju's & i didn't join.

I had subscribed for Disney Byjus App along with their tablet for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades for my son. It is not any private tuition format, but the child can learn from various topics provided in the app. I really liked the way they introduced each concept in maths, science and english, through various games and videos. It is very interesting. I regularly get calls from the mentors, and in the case of any queries they are very quick to respond. Apart from the material they have on the app, they also provide worksheets which the kids can practice. Overall my experience with Byjus has been very much positive.

For me, Byjus success story is the failure of Indian journalism. When Pradeep poonia fought against Byju as a one man army, no one supported him. They shut down all his SM handles multiple times. There was enough frauds reported through him alone for huge cover story for any major new outlet. As far as i remember, coffeezilla was the first major youtube channel to cover the story.
