സത്യമാണ് പണ്ട് അമ്മയൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് ചുരിദാർ ധരിച്ചപ്പോൾ കേട്ടതിനെ പറ്റി. സ്ത്രീകളും രണ്ട് കാലിൽ പാന്റ് പോലെ ഇട്ട് നടക്കുന്നതാരുന്നു എല്ലാർക്കും പ്രശ്നം. ഇപ്പൊ എല്ലാരുടേം മാന്യമായ വസ്ത്രം ആണ് ചുരിദാർ 🤣🤣. ഒരു വ്യതാസം മാത്രം ഇപ്പോ സദാചാരക്കാർക് വലിയ പ്രചരണം നടത്താൻ സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയ ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ടെന്നതാണ്.

ഞാൻ ആദ്യായിട്ടു ജീൻസ് ഇട്ടതു സ്വന്തമായി ജോലി കിട്ടി സ്വന്തമായി വാങ്ങിയിട്ടാണ്. അതിനു മുൻപ് വീട്ടിൽ ഇടാൻ സമ്മതിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. പക്ഷെ ഇട്ടതിനു ശേഷം ആണു എനിക്ക് മനസിലായത് ജീൻസ് ആൻഡ് ടോപ് എത്ര comfortable ആണെന്നതു. പലർക്കും ഈ comfortable പല dress ൽ ആയിരിക്കും. 1 ആം ക്ലാസ്സ്‌ തൊട്ടു 10 ആം ക്ലാസ്സ്‌ വരെ എന്റെ യൂണിഫോം skirt and shirt ആയിരുന്നു. പാവാട ഇട്ടു ബസിൽ നിൽക്കാനോ ഡ്രിൽ പീരിയഡ് സ്പോർട്സ് ടൈം ൽ ഒക്കെ ഒന്ന് മര്യാദയ്ക്ക് ഓടാനോ പോലും പറ്റില്ല. എന്നാൽ അതാണ് ഏറ്റവും ബെസ്റ്റ് യൂണിഫോം എന്ന് ഇപ്പോളും വാതിക്കുന്ന കുറെയെണ്ണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. അത് മാത്രം അല്ല stole ഓ skirt ഓ ഇട്ടു ബൈക്കിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോ പല തവണ wheelil കുടുങ്ങേണ്ട അവസ്ഥ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. പുറകിൽ വരുന്ന വണ്ടിക്കാര് പറയുമ്പോളവും നമ്മൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. പിന്നീട് ഞാൻ ബൈക്കിൽ പോവുമ്പോ ജീൻസ് ആക്കി.ഇപ്പോ ഞാൻ എവടെ പോയാലും മാക്സിമം എനിക്ക് comfortable ആയിട്ടുള്ള dress ആണു ഇടുക. Dressing is a personal choice. Wear what u likes. മറ്റുള്ളവർ പറയുന്നത് കേൾക്കണ്ട ആവശ്യം ഇല്ല. This is our life not theirs💪

ചർച്ചയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കൂന്നതും അഭിപ്രായം പറയുന്നതും മുതിർന്ന വ്യക്തികൾ ആണ്. അവർ ആരും students opinion പോലും ചോദിക്കുന്നില്ല.. ഈ uniform ധരിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത പ്രശ്നം ആണ് മുതിർന്നവർക്കും .. പല കുട്ടികൾക്കും പാന്റും ഷർട്ടും ധരിക്കുന്നതിൽ പ്രശ്നമില്ല... അത് തുറന്ന് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും പലരും അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നില്ല .. തങ്ങളുടെ മനസ്സിൽ തോന്നിയത് പലതും വിളിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞിട്ട് . അത് കുട്ടികളിൽ അടിച്ച് ഏൽപ്പിക്കാനാണ് പലരും ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്.

@@luciferluci8744 നിങ്ങളുടെ അഭിപ്രായത്തോട് ഞാൻ യോജിക്കുന്നു. പക്ഷേ, ഇങ്ങനെ gender neutral uniform പ്രാബല്യത്തിൽ ആകുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് തീർച്ചയായും ആ school യിലെ teacher, students, PTA members എന്നിവരുടെ അഭിപ്രായം ചോദിച്ചിരിക്കും. അതിൽ majority people gender neutral uniform accept ചെയ്തിട്ട് ഉണ്ടാകണം.. പിന്നെ minority people accept ചെയ്യാത്തവരും ഉണ്ടാകാം. oru തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ പോലും നമ്മൾ majority vote അനുസരിച്ചാണ് അടുത്ത സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നത്. എല്ലാവരുടെ പിന്തുണ പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ച് നമ്മുക്ക് ഈ നാട്ടിൽ ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയില്ല : കേട്ടിട്ട് ഇല്ലെ ബഹുജനം പലവിധം.. പിന്നെ പാന്റും ഷർട്ടും ഇതിന് മുമ്പ് കേരളത്തിലെ പല school കളിലും ആൺ പെൺ ഭേദമില്ലാതെ uniform ayi അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ട് .. ഒരു കാറ്റിൽ വന്നാൽ പറന്ന് പോകുന്ന churidar നെക്കാൾ ഏറ്റവും comfortable പാന്റും ഷർട്ടും തന്നെയാണ്.

My daughter went to a lady gynaecologist at thrissur wearing a frock with length just above her ankle. While examining her, doctor scolded her saying "how dare you go out without a pant under frock. On your way out, if a vehicle hits you, you want to give feast to rescue people of seeing your legs and underwear". The doctor continued to insult her until my daughter asked to stop. This is the mindset of even educated people. Women should think about how onlookers will see them even if drop dead.

ഞാൻ 7th-ഇൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത്‌ വരാന്തയിൽ നിന്നിരുന്ന എന്നെ ഒരു ഫ്രണ്ട് പിറകിൽ കൂടെ വന്ന് തള്ളിയിട്ടു . എന്റെ skirt ഫുൾ പൊങ്ങി ഞാൻ താഴെ വീണു. തല പൊട്ടുന്ന പോലെ തോന്നിയിട്ടും ആ സമയത്തും എന്റെ dress പിടിച്ചു താഴേക്കിടാൻ ആണ് ഞാൻ നോക്കിയത്. ഈ ന്യൂസ് ആദ്യം കേട്ടപ്പോ ഈ സംഭവം ആണ് ഓർത്തത്.

ആളുകൾ പതിയെ മറുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. എന്റേത് ഒരു വില്ലേജ് ആണ് (കേരളത്തിൽ കൂടുതലും വില്ലേജ് ആണല്ലോ ) ആദ്യം sleevless ഇടുമ്പോൾ ആളുകൾക്കു വല്ലായ്മ ആയിരുന്നു പതിയെ അത് നോർമലായി ഇപ്പൊ മറ്റ് പെൺകുട്ടികളും comfort ആയി ഇടുന്നുണ്ട്.shorts ഇട്ടിറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഇതുപോലെ നോക്കുവായിരുന്നു ഇപ്പൊ അതും നോർമലായി വരുന്നുണ്ട് Bt എല്ലാർക്കും അവർക്കിഷ്ടമുള്ള dress ഇടാൻ സാഹചര്യം ഉണ്ടാവില്ല. ഇതുപോരാഞ്ഞിട് സ്ത്രീകളെ വല്ലാതെ slut shame ചെയ്ത് അവരുടെ confidence നശിക്കുന്നത് സ്ഥിരം പരിപാടിയാണ്.

സാരി ആണ് ഏറ്റവും സ്ത്രീ വിരുദ്ധ വസ്ത്രം.അത് പോലെ തന്നെ വലിയ shawl. ഇത് രണ്ടും ധരിച്ച് bike il യാത്ര ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ എത്ര അപകടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാവുന്നു.shawl ടയറിൽ കുടുങ്ങുന്ന്.saree ഉടുത്ത് one side ഇരുന്ന പ്രശ്നം അല്ലേ? ഇതിനെതിരെ അധികം ആരും പ്രതികരിച്ചു കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. അത് പോലെ തന്നെ ആണ് ബസിൽ പോവുമ്പോഴും. ചിലർക്ക് conditioning കാരണം അതാവും ഇഷ്ടം.അതിനു കാരണം comfort ഒന്നുല.only conditioning. ഇപ്പൊൾ കുറേ ഒക്കെ മാറി ചിന്തിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.ഇനി ആരും സാരി ഉടുത്ത് daily നടക്കും എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല.

Even in engineering colleges u can wear whatever u want. Medical colleges seem to be living in the 80's or something. I wonder who decides all these rules about what one should wear.

How I wish gender neutral uniforms were introduced while I was still in school. I remember how difficult it was to handle skirts especially during PE period and Yoga. Girls were shamed by teachers for not wearing tights underneath our skirts . I used to wonder why make us wear multilayers when they could've solved the issue by introducing pants!?

ഞങ്ങളുടെ യൂണിഫോം ചുരിദാർ ആയിരുന്നു.. പാത്രം കഴുകുന്ന സമയത്ത് കുനിഞ്ഞാൽ shaall വെള്ളത്തിലേക്ക് വീഴും . അന്നേരം പുറകിൽ കെട്ടി ഇടണം.. ബാത്ത്റൂമിൽ പോകുന്നേരം.. closetil വീഴാതെ ഇരിക്കാൻ shall മുമ്പിൽ കെട്ടി ഇടണം.. 😑😑😑😑 .. പിന്നെ പാവാട ആണെങ്കിൽ പറയേം വേണ്ട.. കാറ്റ് ഉള്ള സമയത്ത് മുകളിൽ ഒന്നും കേറി നിൽക്കാനേ പറ്റില്ല.. underwear വരേ കണ്ടെന്ന വരും. ഗ്രൗണ്ടിൽ പോകുന്ന നേരത്ത് ഒക്കെ സമാധാനം ആയിട് കളിക്കാൻ പോലും.പറ്റില്ല. 😤😤😤

ഏറ്റവും രസം ബസ്സിൽ പോകുമ്പോൾ ആണ്. ഒരു കൈ ബസ്സിന്റെ കമ്പിയിലും മറ്റെ കൈ കാറ്റ് വന്നാൽ പറന്ന് പോകുന്ന uniform(churidar) യിലും പിടിച്ച് കൊണ്ട് ആണ് നിൽക്കുന്നത്. നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ചുരുണ്ട് കൂടുന്ന uniform (churidar) നേരെ പിടിച്ച് ഇട്ട് കൊണ്ട് ഇരിക്കണം..

എൻ്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടിൽ സാരി പോലെ ഒരു മോശം വസ്ത്രം വേറെ ഇല്ല... അലക്കാനും, ഉണക്കാനും ഉടുക്കാനും, ഇട്ടോണ്ട് നടക്കാനും.. എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും... ഒരു തവണ ഈ സാധനം ഉടുത്ത് bike ൻറ പുറകിൽ കേറിയിട്ട ടായറിൽ കുടുങ്ങും എന്ന് പേടിച്ച് പേടിച്ച് കൈ കൊണ്ട് സാരിയും പൊക്കി പിടിച്ച് ഇരുന്നത് ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ 😤😤😤😤 ഹോ ഈ സ്ഥിരം സാരി മാത്രം ഉടുക്കുന്ന പെണ്ണുങ്ങളെ സമ്മതിക്കണം... ആകെ പാടേ ഇത് എന്തിന് കൊള്ളാം എന്ന് വച്ചാൽ.. പാർട്ടി wear ആയിട്ട് എന്തെങ്കിലും ഫംഗ്ഷന് use ചെയ്യാം.. ഭംഗിക്ക് വേണ്ടി മാത്രം.

Kudos to the Balusshery Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School for the much needed reform. Pants and shirt are much more comfortable in a school and work environment. Rather than gender neutrality, an all inclusive Gender equality is the need of the hour. I remember reading about sweeden trying to impliment laws regarding how men should urinate sitting down rather than standing up in the name of Gender neutrality. It's like Fascism trying to conform all individuals to fit into the same mold the state/Ideologue wants it to be.

If the toilet is common, then definitely it’s advisable for men to urinate sitting down for hygiene reasons. But it should not be thought of as something towards gender neutrality.

@@SreejithCassi I wouldn’t object even if there is any such legislation (not sure how they implement it though 😀), as many men urinate standing and very carelessly in common toilets, even without lifting the toilet covers, making it almost impossible for ladies to use. In the student dormitories i lived, there were strict instructions to us to sit while using the toilets. This was mostly followed by everyone but that’s not the case always.

One of the problems that I've noticed in pants for women is that , their pockets are pretty much useless. Sometimes they're not big enough for their phones , let alone a purse. I guess it's a conspiracy between the pants manufacturers and handbag manufacturers.

I went to a small college where we didn't use a lab coat in chemistry labs, but for safety the teachers told us to avoid wearing salwars and shawls on days that we had lab. Coincidentally, we had lab on Nov 1st of that year. There were some random guys quite offended that we didn't please their eyes and had the gall to say that atleast that one day we should have 'honored our tradition' and worn a Kerala saree. I have no idea why men and boys feel that they are entitled to an opinion on what women wear. That Rahul Eswar had the gall to ask 'what is the problem with salwars' eventhough he had never worn one ever in his life...He should be made to run a marathon wearing salwar while making him pay attention that the shawl won't move past his chest or his bottom or crotch part of pants won't be visible while he is running, and then made to pay if he can't out run someone else wearing pants.

@@adithyavimal3724 Shirt, pants/jeans are not traditional for Indian men. They are all western. Especially jeans which started as what ranchers in America wore. Shirt and pants are both European. The only thing that India men used to wear traditionally was dhoti and a shawl in warmer regions and some kind of ruffled kaftan kind if kurthi in places influenced by Mughals. Why don't men first go back and start wearing Dhoti- kaftan everywhere, walk the talk and then we women will think about whether we want to wear 'traditional' clothes or not. Btw the traditional Indian attire even the queens in our place wore was just a dhoti and they went completely top less just like the men. So if you insist if absolute tradition you'll have to get used to seeing topless women and maybe women with just an additional small Dhoni around their breast.

@@adithyavimal3724 BTW 7 yard saree as we know now was something that British missionary women made Indian women wear by imposing their Victorian standards on Indians and women cover their breasts. And women even resisted it first by throwing upper clothes on their faces, because only courtesans used to cover their breasts to titillate intrigue and men's fantasy. Women of good station saw it as an insult to make them behave like courtesans.

Why do I have to convince you of the comfort level of something you have never worn in you life, just so I can wear whatever I want? Are you a self proclaimed custodian of western clothing or something? I don't owe you any explaination on what I find comfortable or not. Wear it and figure it out yourself. What's the problem with dhoti then? Unlike you who is asking what's uncomfortable able saree or salwar without ever wearing one in your entire life, I have worn dhoti and know from experience that it is infact much more comfortable than any pants or jeans. Since when did men in India start wearing these western clothes? Why don't you stop bothering about what women wear and start bothering about what you wear? Once you have worn a saree or salwar to go everywhere from home to market to job and while sleeping for atleast a week, then you can ask the question 'what's so uncomfortable about saree or salwar'. You'll know it first hand, just like how women know it first hand how pants and jeans are more comfortable than saree and salwar after wearing both plenty. So if you want argue with women about the comfort of clothing, do the bare minimum of what women does and wear both kinds personally and then talk. Just don't talk about comfort of something that you have not worn. So what if women only wore saree or salwars for the past few decades? Why should women be forced to wear something that someone wore in the past, especially when men are not wearing what they wore a decade ago? Western men used to wear tight leggings, giant wigs and heels, why aren't you wearing only that if you want women to keep wearing only what they wore a decade ago? Run and catch a bus in saree and then you can talk. Do not try to mansplain to us about what we should be comfortable with when you have never wore any women's clothing in your life for anything And don't divert with 'Ma'am we are talking about women's clothes' when I talk about the history of pant and shirt. If you feel like you have any opinion in what women wear, then at the very least have the balls to deal with it when women make opinion about what you should wear

It never bothered me about length of my tops or shirts while wearing with jeans/pants when I lived in Delhi.. But after settling in kerala, I was so conditioned by the society that any top with length above knees made me uncomfortable.. Also friends judge cheyumo enna pediyum. Ithil nte school nteyum teachers nteyum pank cheruth onnum alla.. Finally it took me about 4 years of college life to get out of this conditioning and wear these most comfortable clothes that I ever wore.. It gives a great hope to hear that there are schools that promote comfortability and equality regarding uniforms for students 🙌

16 years before my school uniform was Pants and shirt with coat(girls)..My school is in a village area@ Kottayam..No issues were there even at that time and we girls were pretty happy and was very much comfortable with it...(Before that we used to wear skirts..I do remember how difficult it was to play in the grounds , boarding a bus...)But now on seeing all those toxic comments on gender neutral uniforms, I wonder how our society's values are getting deteriorated???

എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത് സ്കൂളിൽ ഇത് നടപ്പിൽ വരുത്തിയത് കൊണ്ടാണ് ഇത്രക്ക് പ്രതിഷേധം എന്നാണ്. പ്രധാനമായും പ്രതിഷേധിക്കുന്നത് മതതിന്റെ ആൾകാരാണ്. ബാക്കി ഒക്കെ അതിനെ മുതലെടുക്കാൻ നോക്കുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരും. സ്കൂളിൽ gender neutral എന്ന ആശയം പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ചാൽ തങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിൽ കുട്ടികളുടെ മേൽ അടിച്ചേല്പിച്ചു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സാംസ്കാരിക ചട്ടക്കൂട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് കുട്ടികൾ പുറത്ത് ചാടുമോ എന്ന ആശങ്കയാണ് അവർക്ക്. അത് വഴി കുട്ടിക്കളിൻമേലുള്ള തങ്ങളുടെ നിയന്ത്രണം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുമോ എന്ന ഭയവും.

It's so nice of you to help them.. But a small suggestion.. Could u make a little effort to remove the caste from your name.. It don't suits to 21st centuary

@@nehlaa1654 No, I'd rather not. I'd rather focus on my actions, check my privilege, be an ally, fight the system from within, ensure that I don't engage in caste discrimination, etc. Rather than going for a token surname deletion and being apathetic towards the system.

@@aish28493 Whatever you said you will do with regard to caste system is very appreciative. But hope one day you will realise that your surname automatically gives you privilege in many stratas in this society, which none of us backwards casts will ever get. Have you heard any of backward castes keeping their surname that specifies their caste atleast in Kerala? That's because we will automatically be disregarded with that very name. Having said that, it's completely your right to keep or not, nobody can oppose you.

@@aish28493 Well said...what I have always felt when ppl give such criticism based on the name...In my opinion, that's a very shallow point of view...Also, our names are not chosen by us and it involves a tiresome amount of formalities to change it... Better use the time and energy for something that can actually bring about a change!
