Good Evening Maam , Here is the answer for the Question. Answer :- We should avoid standing close to a tuberculosis patient while he/she is coughing because we could also be affected by that and it's because its cough contains bacteria which would try to attack on us . Mode of transmission of tuberculosis is Air .

Tuberculosis is an air-borne disease. A patient who is affected with this disease may transfer the bacteria which are known as Mycobacterium tuberculosis while coughing. After coming into contact with this bacterium any healthy body may suffer with the same disease.Tuberculosis (TB) is a potentially serious infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs. The bacteria that cause tuberculosis are spread from person to person through tiny droplets released into the air via coughs and sneezes.
