Good job getting in there figuring it out. Saving big money. The Bose deck and factory amp have a weird relationship I’d be scared to eff with.
@beakerwsw9 ай бұрын
If you dont use the preouts on the head unit and try to wire up the regular speaker outs you'll run into massive clipping. The highest voltage outputs for RCA's to the bose amp is 4v. Metra makes a bose integration connector for nissans that uses the RCA's instead of stereo line out.

@TheKeymaster3162 жыл бұрын
If you’re going with an aftermarket radio, absolutely. If you are keeping everything stock, you would be fine. But if you’re upgrading the radio and door speakers, you definitely want to bypass this amp.

I've got an '18 with bose. If I'm using a loc would I just tap into the rear deck going to the amp ? Trying to add a sub that won't be on boses crossovers
@TheKeymaster316 Жыл бұрын
I never tried adding a sub with the stock radio. You definitely don’t want to tap into the amp side for your LOC. I would tap into the speaker wires right behind the deck to install the LOC and see how that works.

Did you install an aftermarket head unit? I did end up putting some JBL’s in the front doors and that improved the sound as well.
@karanjeetsinghgodara33396 ай бұрын
I connected 2 subs through line out converter, it worked out but after couple of days I started feeling same distortion in bass and when I turned my amp off to check stock rear speakers and I got confirmation that something fucked up but I guess I need to do all this job and will take my whole, So as I've stock head unit do you've any other way to do this bypass..? And what are your thoughts on bypass harnesses, will you recommend those or not ?
@TheKeymaster3166 ай бұрын
I’ll be honest, we sold this car about 3 years ago, but I replaced the head unit several years before selling it. The best way I knew to get good sound from the car after upgrading the head unit and speakers was to bypass that amp in the trunk. Ultimately, you’d want to run every speaker wire to every speaker from scratch, but that can be very time consuming. The one thing about that stock head unit is that it has something built in that affects the volume at different times while driving, which I believe is one of the reasons for the adverse sound when you start upgrading the stereo system. So for me, if I ever had one of these cars again, the head unit would be the first thing I’d replace.

If you have power to the radio but no sound, check the wire that sends the signal to the amp. If none of the speakers are working, it sounds like the wire that sends the signal to the amp is not bridged over.

@ no worries. I’ve never been that great at the whole KZbin thing, it takes an incredible amount of time to video something and then try to explain it, so I have mad respect for the folks that have good channels because I know how difficult it is to make bad videos, so it really has to be hard to make the good ones. 😅. Most of the how-to videos I share happen because I have already figured out what I wanted to do and then decide, at the last minute, to make a quick video. But man, when there’s no written script, I really tend to beat around the bush. Sometimes it’s hard to go back and watch my old videos because I can see where the criticism comes from. Bad thing is, I sold this car about 5 years ago, so this video is all I have left. That factory amp really does make the aftermarket radio sound like crap, so if you can bypass it, it definitely helps!
