The cookie situation is how I knew I didn't love my mother. Her gifts were the only thing that I could get that was enjoyable. So the gifts ended up meaningless over the years, so I finally called her not long ago and ended the relationship. I feel like crap around her and I needed to end the charade. I told her she needed to forget about me, and I'm glad. I just wish all the neurotic conditioning wouldn't have been put on me.

Being 43 ......even if your mother isn't around, the concepts you hold onto about her, you will take into other relationships ...so you will meet others who trigger you like your mother did ......one way of making peace in yourself is to investigate as in Byron Katie work the thoughts that cause you not to have peace ...it takes a bit of effort and diligence and repetition but it's a choice between peace and not peace by holding onto grudges from the past ...wishing you well whatever you choose .....

I've taken in a 16 yr old that is a spoilt selfish human, his parents passed (my daughter) but his dad taught him nothing but foul language, disrespectful, how to be a drama queen, he burnt my car because he was angry now I have no car, I was free after my aggressive husband passed, now I have to drag home food to feed him, (which he wastes) gets thrown out. I could just get on with my life but he won't clean his mess, he doesn't take care of his dog he stays in his room day every day, I just don't need this crap but I can't throw him out.I cant just ignore him because there's always mess the dog isn't looked after,he wont even flush the toilet.

@@lotusflower1716 I am sure he is but I am trying to teach him gratitude, empathy, Humility,& to show some respect but he just doesn't want to listen. He just can't continue on this manipualting pity path he is on. Some times you have to be cruel to be kind,or he will never learn.

@@helioschan7705 Well it was out of my hands,The other night he came home and I asked all his mates to go please,He attacked me I was so scared of him i had to ring the police They took him out of my home, he had somewhere else to live in a caravan he had arranged. So I had no choice.

It makes sense, but things are not so simple as Kathy trying to present. Frankly speaking it's a pure manipulation. If someone is going down in front of you - it's not your problem. Just be happy as you are. Forget your duties, forget them all.

There is infinite love awaiting us on the other side. We can choose this boundless love for others and ourselves, or see our problems as they always were, and always will be. It's our choice. It's hard sometimes, because we've held onto our beliefs for so long. But we can't be both at peace or be right. We must choose, and the fruits of the choice that aligns with Truth is incredible.
