Well, it is good that he gave all his money to support the independence of Greece but he was an indecent man. It is like when a drug dealer does charity. It has happened in my country. It was common at his time to gamble away all your fortune so he tried to do a good deed before he died, not just gamble the money like his father. We should not repeat his mistakes. Like King David (it was a similar case). People loved King David but he committed adultery and murder. And his son Absalon and his daughter Tamar had to pay for it and also 20,000 people died to pay for it.

Baron. Pretty much protected title. You cant just (in a foreign country) put a Baron in prison, or attack him without creating political upheavel (upheavel ? Here in this movie the Albanian language is heard spoken and sung at the backround from Min 1:35 to 2:04. Souliotes were Arvanites/ Albanians and not Greeks. Do some research.

I had read that he had gotten his servant pregnant as a suspicion not a reality. I didn't know either that his trip to the Middle East had been a case of "sexual tourism." About the son or daughter he had with his servant I have not seen any information as to what happened. But it seems it was just like that. I thought it was a rumor. I cannot believe that Lady Melbourne being his confidant and Annabella's aunt, let Annabella marry him. He needed to be in jail. Marriage was not a jail however if anyone thought marriage would keep him together. Annabella was a victim, his sexual slave, just for being married to him. I had wanted to know if the marriage had been longer if that had helped him in anyway to behave. But as they divorce we will never know. He made of Annabella a whore after the large effort made by her parents to make her a "good" or "decent" wife. Do not let your daughter marry just any man. Lady Melbourne promoted them getting married. It is curious that by then Byron had had an intellectual affair with Lady Melbourne's daughter-in-law Lady Caroline Lamb and she was furious to her. That woman was unhappy for the rest of her life ever since. Byron made every woman he entered in contact with pay for her sins, apparently. He broke hearts. I think that because lady Melbourne was just as much of a sinner as he was she did nothing to protect her niece. I think it all started in his childhood by being raped by a nanny. Then I don't understand how they even had a friend prostitute in Cambridge as I read when Oxford was a super strict college. Cambridge was almost a brothel from what I have read about it so far. His homosexuality was born in the schools he was interned in. However a boyfriend of her mother had tried to do something to him earlier in his life. Because he had been sexually abused he must have abused other students. And there was no supervision in the school apparently or the students did not confess or denounce. Percy Shelley studied in Oxford and he was expelled when he published a text supporting atheism anonymously with Thomas Jefferson Hogg. Oxford was strict! Annabella had been homeschooled. I don't believe in the boarding school system.

That's cool but what irks me slightly is, "...of an age to make a sound decision...", as if to imply that age and intelligent-decision-making are strongly linked. I've seen old people do stupid things and young people do intelligent things. Emotional maturity and age are as different as romanticism and passion. Perhaps i'm being way too pedantic though. I know what you mean.

All these offended comments about Albanians and Greeks... How do they know the song is Albanian? Or Greek? Europe is such a mixture off contributions of many people! And I don’t say nations! So it’s maybe the geographical area that makes a song popular? If Albania was in Scandinavia, I would agree, but like this, it’s quite obvious that there are similarities
@vitoscaletta77746 жыл бұрын
alebhard because I am albanian and i can understand all the text of the song and the metodi is albanian and the costumes are albanian ,and greeks claim to be greek even they dont understand a single word of the song hahahah
@vitoscaletta77746 жыл бұрын
alebhard and go an lern the history of Lord byron in albania and you Will understand, if you want. The fany thing is that greeks still to day dont accept the fact that the magority of people that fighted for greek indipendence were Albanian (Arvanitas and suljotis ), and to day greeks claim that they were greeks not albanians and they culture, songs and langueg were greek hahhahaha this is why are angry Albanians. If the magority of Albanians fighted for indipendence of your contry will you denay they contrybut? And steal they culture and claim that is yours?

@@alebhard you hate nationalism? What does Nationalism got to do with what what Vito Scaletta just explained to you! You asked a question on how or why Albanians and Greeks are arguing over the song Because the Instrument used and words used in the song are Albanian. Stop being a Dumb Idiot.
@sigmaalpha86985 жыл бұрын
Vito Scaletta777 Lmao if all the warriors who fought in the Greek war of independence were “Albanians” as you say then why did they fight against Albanians and why did they only speak Greek and not Albanian? All the Greek warriors in the Greek war of independence were Greeks. Only 2 fighters were Arvanites (Bouboulina and Miaoulis) but Arvanites hate Albanians and consider you traitors and cowards. I don’t know why you would try to claim a group of people who hate you.
