Same, i dont understand how a human can take someone into their home just to mercilessly ditch them like that...they are your child/family once you've adopted them and humans definitely wouldn't leave their spawn behind so why wouldn't you do the same for your fur child and take them with

I don’t even like dogs in the slightest, but if you had dogs why the fuck would you leave them during an evacuation? I don’t even understand that level of evil.

Yeah but if you had to prioritize what would you do? For example: you have to evacuate in order to safeguard the family, and you have to choose to carry either both of your kids or carry one kid and your pet, what would you choose? The answer is going to be pretty universal: Kids first. I hope that something like this was the case and they had no choice but to save their kids and themselves first. Otherwise, very bad owner(s). I think that the owner should have gone back and gotten the dog after saving the family, so if that's what you mean I'd 100% agree. Otherwise... Sometimes your only options are bad versus worse and you have to prioritize in order to choose the least harmful option. And no matter what you choose, the choice will be both right and wrong at the same time for various reasons, to various extents and to various people (we all differ).
