@@ChachoTrades it’s a long story but if you’re interested I’ll explain, I had my oldest iPad Pro (512G) showing signs of aging & being choked using 350G+ leaving me with 150G and so I picked up an IPad Air (250G) with what you’re saying in mind. First, there wasn’t enough space on the Air to download my music programs so I worked between the Air & Pro - the IPad Air had me constantly deleting video to make room for my next project and many times while saving I’ll get “not enough space” and dealt with this for 2 years. Finally, it came time to buy the IPad M4 maxed out and I’m in heaven. Every aspect of comfort and speed is incredible. My decision comes from being spoiled cause taking a step back from the iPad Pro to IPad Air showed me I can’t step back in my case. As far as external drives I got too much stuff and don’t want more gadgets so for me it’s worth it. So those who say the M4 is not worth it is because it’s not for them 😊

I bought the 11" M4 iPP for the same reasons as you. When I first got it, though, I played around with Stage Manager and a 27" 4K display. At first, I was super excited, and thought maybe I could finally use the iPad as a computer. Those thoughts quickly passed. For one, Stage Manager is clunkier than macOS. Two, the iPad versions of Microsoft Office leave much to be desired. Not only do they have a limited feature set, the arrangement of commands is very different than on the macOS version. Three, some of the other software that's part of my workflow is simply not available for iPad. After using the M4 iPP as my main computer for a 2-day test period, I picked up my 15" M3 MBA and it was like a breath of fresh air, how easy it is to do everything I need. Sure, you can't use anything like an Apple Pencil on the M3 MBA, or any Macbook. But thanks to side car and universal control, you can use an Apple Pencil with many macOS apps. I'm happy the algorithm put this video in my feed. Before that, I didn't know about your channel. Now, I'm a subscriber.

Functionally my M1 iPad Pro is effectively the same as the M4, and I don’t really notice the faster chip or weight saving, but that display! You can use it in direct sunlight with sunglasses on. And the pinch gesture on the pencil. And the camera being in the right place. I had the 11 inch until I scored the 13 inch for $999. It’s so light this time I don’t mind the additional weight and appreciate the size.

How did you get it that cheap?
@PLANETWATERMELON5 ай бұрын
@@suli_xli Great question. The iPad Pro m4 was on sale at Best Buy and it was an Open Box unit in mint condition. But, it gets better. It would not scan so he had to manually enter it in the POS system. So he applied the lowest price he could. I actually had to wait 20 minutes for the price to get into the system and update, but it was worth it. On top of that I am a Total Tech member so it includes Applecare+. SCORE! Many people say I should start a biz finding great deals for customers. Maybe???

I had purchased both the air m2 13” and 11” iPad to try out both and honestly, I returned both for the m4 pro 11”. The 13” is just meant for a keyboard, and th 11” air had weak speakers and i much prefer Face ID. The 11” is the sweet spot

I am considering purchasing an iPad for my current workflow to complement my MacBook Pro and have two options: the 11" M1 iPad Air 256GB refurbished for £519 or the 11" M2 iPad Pro 128GB refurbished for £639. I really do not need the extra power the M2 gives me, however the 120 Hz screen is certainly a nice to have, as well as the better cameras.

I think the dilemma ablut wanting iPad or iPad OS to be “more” are people who are on the content creation side of things. Mostly those who really do video editing and creative stuff. I use an iPad 10th Gen as my main computer now and I am happy with it.

Yep, I think you're right with this which is why the iPad is in a weird position at the moment

I recently got an 11 inch iPad Pro 1TB with the Magic Keyboard and am LOVING it. I also was deciding between the between it and the 13 inch one, but I found the 13 inch to be too unwieldy/heavy. As a guy who likes to use his iPad while he is bed, I just found the 11 inch iPad to be the sweet spot and can use it for long periods of times. The Magic Keyboard is nice and I like how strong the magnets are but I do wish that it would articulate further. The keyboard is nice to type on and I use it when messaging etc but not sure if I would use this as a laptop alternative.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I got a 13 yesterday and I am thinking 11 in hand is better and MacBook for computer with keyboard. This keeps a iPad a tablet in hand not a keyboard

The internet WiFi connection is really fast. WiFi 6e is awesome. Plus I use it to study and take notes for school, watch movies, surf the internet, games and lots of other stuff. I wonder since it has M4 if it’s faster than Macs with M3 or M2.

I was pretty much in the same boat as you - had an 2018 12.9" Pro which was just amazing and didn't feel any need to upgrade (which is rich coming from me, since I always end up switching my iPhone to the newest one even for the smallest improvements). When the mini released I got it as "an iPad for my iPad" since the big boy was always hooked up to the Magic Keyboard, and I wanted something small and portable to catch my ideas fast (adhd man...). And when I got the M1 Macbook Pro, I noticed that the big iPad was just there for me as a second monitor mostly. So a while ago I decided to sell both iPads and get an 11" M2 Pro as a middle ground and it's been serving me quite well, especially after I got a magnetic rotating stand. One thing I really miss from the big iPad is the speakers system, I feel like it's a big downgrade, but I just use my Mac for music and movies now.

Yeah those speakers are crazy good considering the slimness!

I just ordered a new M2 iPad Pro 11, 1tb. It was almost the same price as the m4 256. As much as I’m sure I’d love the OLED display, I need to storage more. I couldn’t pass up the sale price and I know, for me, the 13 is too large. If I need a big screen, I have a MBP. Good video, cheers

I won’t upgrade from my 2018 11” until Apple brings battery replacements to Denmark. Right now we have to pay for either a device swap or a brand new one to get a fresh battery.
@zzzzZZ0113 ай бұрын
Is that due to Denmark’s regulations or Apple just for some reason not providing battery replacements?

I switched from my 3 year old 12.9 iPad Pro to the 11” when the 2024 model came out primarily because of portability and the size when it’s sitting on a desk while I’m in a meeting and have both it and my laptop. It’s just a lot less intrusive. When I bought the new one my son asked are you going to miss the size and I was concerned I would. Really I haven’t. I was wondering if I should be and that is why I watched your video. I echo your opinion. Thanks for the video, I appreciate you.

I use the 10.9inch M1 iPad Air for schoolwork and entertainment. And it’s incredible at doing those things. The screen size is small, but stage manager makes everything a little better because I can overlap windows so I have a larger window space and it really good. The M1 is also enough to run apple intelligence when it comes out and when I want, I can connect it to an external monitor. And the portability for me it’s excellent. I can easily fit it into a small backpack if I need to, but the magic keyboard makes it too heavy. I wanted to make it into an audio producing machine for a hobby, but for that I am still on Mac for ease of use and the audio interface works better.

M1 iPad Air is so good, I think it's what I would have if I didn't make content!

Great Video! I found the exact same thing. Tried the 13”, returned it and got the 11”. Between the IPAD OS (disappointment) and the fact the the Mac Book Air M2 is so thin (and powerful) - I use my IPAD as an IPAD (mostly research and content absorption) …. THANKS

I’ve got the 11” M2 iPad Air and it is very much the sweet spot, I’ve been toying with sizing up in the future, but I am really happy with the size (I am jealous of the people on iPad Pros though, they’re so nice, maybe next time I’ll step up)

I just did a similar change. I sold my iPad Pro M1 and Magic Keyboard and switched to a iPad mini 6. Also, I've ordered a MacBook Air laptop. I've finally given up on iPads being a productivity device for me. I'm a power user, this was never going to work for me. iPads are great for media consumption and some emergency or causal computing.

Let ipads be ipads its the best thing ever. I would like to know if after you work on the 11 with no keyboard for a while, you would like to hop on the 13 with no keyboard as well. You mentioned size but as it has the same size than the macbook I would love to hear your opinion.

Samsung user here. A shame the s10+ tab doesn't come in 11 inch. Thinking about getting this. I'm no stranger to Apple. My work phone is an iPhone, while my personal phone is an s24 ultra. Nice review. Side note, I'm surprised you have quite a bit of subscribers reviewing strictly Apple products...

Subscribed and Liked! You almost got me to reconsider, but then I reminded myself that my eyesight isn't what it was, so for surfing and comics, I think the 13 will do ME better, as well as for drawing (though to be honest, I mostly just doodle lol). I also do not travel very often, maybe 4-6 times a year. I will say my M2 11" has been a great companion for a few trips, but not wanting to use my company laptop for personal stuff, even though it has been great, I just feel the 13 will be better for me. Besides, I lug around said laptop on most of these trips anyway, so it slides in right next to it. I'm still a bit torn about trading in my M2 11, but it also only has 128GB, which was not enough for me it turns out (lol), and the bigger screen will be nice. Going to the M4 series (which granted is much more expensive), for the OLED and new pen. I also never invested in a keyboard for my M2, but will do that this time. I think it will finally be used to flesh out ideas etc., for side-projects I have.

I have a 11” 2022 iPad Pro. I also have a 13” 2020 MacBook Pro. But I’m the opposite of you I find myself leaning more and more to my iPad Pro then my MacBook Pro. The magic keyboard is smooth to type on, the screen and display seem smoother and and more vibrant. I’m thinking of trading in my MacBook Pro and 11”iPad pro to get a 13” iPad Pro
