Thanks for this, was struggling from other videos, this was the one that finally worked... I had iso2god but was getting that same missing file error and with that, the cmd line code and github link was all i needed! Tips for noobies: Make you folders all one word with caps/lowercase the games and folders. Then you will be able to get it running in cmd prompt or powershell is what i used.

I tend to avoid themes and other customisations. They are probably fine on the Xbox but on other consoles they can cause the console to brick. So I just do the least software tweaks as possible. But many others will take you through the process.

Great video that helped me a bunch, being new to all of this! I tried converting and extracting a OG Xbox game and put it into the HDD of the 360, it booted up fine but then I got a error message saying something about the disc being dirty or damaged, and then i couldnt do anything. Why did that happen? It was ratatouille that I tried. Any ideas? Will try more.

Not sure what went wrong there. if other games are working ok it might just be a bad copy of the game or that the game isn't fully compatible.

Is this Xenia? I was told that isn't good for sports games, and is what I am using, My sports games CHUG along hard with low frame rate or something. They do NOT play smoothly. Or is this something else that works well with sports games?

This is using the Xbox 360's built in support for the original Xbox games. Most games should run fine on here. But this is a mod for the Xbox 360 console, not for the PC. Xenia is an emulator that turns your PC into an Xbox 360 so you can run games on your PC. I made a video about it here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5nEd2mAhdd4jdU. It's great for most games but won't run everything.

I did something similar [?] a year or two ago that I still use and the sports games "chug along" when playing a full on game [as opposed to practice and mini games]. I went live yesterday with two different games if you want to see what I mean. I did the while compatability partition stuff with a flash drive and all that, so I fear that it is the same thing.

Why don't you just drag the iso into the xiso extractor and then load this folder onto the xbox in a normal games folder? is there a disadvantage?

You can really use either option. It gets you to the same end point. The xiso file has an advantage for emulation. The Xemu emulator can use the xsio but not the game folder.

I think you need to have a hard drive installed in your Xbox. If you've modded it you can use any hard drive. My RGH3 video shows you how. The USB drive is purely to get the apps onto the Xbox. It installs the compatibility partition to your hard drive.

There are mods you can apply to some games to make them widescreen but not all. Most of the games were designed as 4:3 and are best played at that ratio.

I already have an original Xbox tab called Xbox Classic but it has no games in it and I have no idea to add games to it. I copied an original Xbox game from a disc to a game folder but when I go to click on it from the Xbox 360 list of games it shuts the console down.

It will depend on how your system is hacked and set up. If it's already got an Xbox partition on the hard drive I don't think the new software will overwrite that so I'm not totally sure if that might cause any issues.

Your PC should be able to open the zip file so you can see the iso file inside. Then drag it out to a folder on your PC. Or right click the zip file and select extract.

There's no HUD_xgamechat folder. Both folders have 3 additional folders - HUD, HUD_plugins and Regular. Still no HUD_xgamechat anything.

I see what you mean. They've updated the software. If you have a look in the extracted folder you'll see a ReadMe file. Have a look through that. To replicate the video you'll need to use the 64MB / HUD Compatibility folder.

If you don;t see the menu option press your windows key and type cmd. You should see the command prompt app appear. This will probably drop you into you user directory. Use the cd command to navigate to the right place. cd / will take you to the root of your drive. c: d: e: etc will swap to a different disk cd foldername will take you into a folder from where you currently are Hope this helps.

@BytesNBits Really struggling to run this extract. Open up PowerShell with the exe and ISO but sits there and does nothing. Tried renaming the ISOs just in case but no luck. Any further pointers?

I guess it's really just checking that you've got everything correct. Maybe try redownloading and extracting the extract-xiso file first, just in case. Then make sure when you run PowerShell you're running it from the folder containing the files. make sure you have the full stop (.) in front of the file paths i.e. ./extract-xiso and ./myfile.iso Maybe try running if from the normal command line tool rather than PowerShell. I can't think of much else you can do. Hope you get it working.

@@BytesNBits **solved**. Maybe? So, after a lot of digging and experimenting it appears the "vcruntime140.dll" was missing. As another appeared to experience similar to me the way to check if the exe can be run is to simply drag an ISO in to the exe file and see if the error appears. If so this can be rectified by installing Visual C++. Used PowerShell again with the commands and it runs. Now the only issue I have is after converting to GOD is that I can't get the games to launch. It remains in a black screen. So back to the drawing board for now but at least the first part works.

**solved** again. To add to the above - Something that took me a while to find out about was, if like me you experience a black screen on launch, you need to check if you have a stealth server enabled. If so it needs to be disabled. And now everything runs as expected.

You have to left click on the file explorer window that contains the extract xiso.exe then you want to hold down your left shift button before you right click the file explorer. You will see an option for open Powershell

I know how troublesome it can be to get the OG xbox games working, but for some reason I can't even transfer them to the HDD. Tried with both an officially backwards compatible game (splinter cell double agent) and an unsupported (Tony Hawk's underground) Transfer method is 360 neighborhood Transferring THU with stealth Servers plugin results in "fatal Error intercepted" and reboot Transferring same game without plugins (for some reason Xex-menu changes look) results in multiple fatal crash intercepted messages while the system gets critically slow, to the point that you gotta turn it off. Canceling the Transfer on the pc gets it stuck. SPDA can Transfer without crashing, both with or without active stealth server plugins. However after some time the transfer process gets stuck and won't progress, and canceling on pc will also get it stuck. I can transfer and play 360 games just fine.

I don't use the network transfer methods with my Xbox360. I prefer to use a USB SSD drive. I find it a lot easier and faster. I'm not sure why you'd not be able to transfer the files. From the file transfer point of view there shouldn't be any difference.

The compatibility folder download got updated with these new folders. In the package you'll find a readme file. Have a look at that. I from memory you need the 64MB version and in there you'll find the matching set of files to the video.

You need to check the compatibility list to see if the game you're trying works. Not all OG Xbox games can run on the Xbox 360.

Is XeX menu , aurora and dash dashboard really required for this . I have XeX loader in my JTAG xbox, but it doesn't detect hddx , I am a noob here, I just installed disc partitioner it was successful, but xexloader doesn't show that partition.

I'm not sure about the JTag system you're using, but you need some sort of menu system that lets you access the Xbox partition. Any that works will do.

For some reason this isn't working for me. I followed instructions to the letter and there are no misspellings. When I press return it just start a new Powershell command line. I've tried it 10 times in a row I even downloaded the exe application again with no new results. I'm about ready to give up🤦‍♂️

Make sure you are in the correct directory when running the command. Type dir followed by return key and it should list the files in the folder you are working in. You should be able to see the exe file and the iso file. If that's all correct it should work.

Drag the ISO and drop onto the extract-xiso. It’ll create a folder with all the game contents. Use Qwix to convert it back to an ISO then use ISO2GOD. That’s what I did when powershell kept telling me to go away

You need to make sure you are running the command from the correct folder. If you've opened the command prompt from Explorer you should be there. Look at the command prompt. It should tell you what folder you're currently in.
