Me and my partner love Liverpool. We stayed in the Adelphi once and loved it. We had a massive room with hallway 4 poster bed lounge area. Did feel a bit spooky but that just added extra to the extra I would definitely stay there again. I stayed at the Adelphi in December. It was an emergency booking made online at an hour's notice after a disaster with another accommodation I had booked and I arrived at 9.00 pm. My room was fine. It was clean and comfortable although the windows were very draughty. The breakfast was fine and it was cheap and in a great location as I was departing from Lime Street that morning. While it did not compare with the Leonardo where I had spent the previous night it was good value for money.

My parents met whilst both working at The Adelphi in the early 1960’s. Three decades later we visited Liverpool for a familyreunion and stayed at The Adelphi in a suite (with jacuzzi) on an upper floor for the weekend and it was lovely. However we used to go to a cafe around corner for breakfast as it was good value then. Nowadays if we visit family in Liverpool we prefer to stay at The Premier Inn at Albert Dock - lovely staff and great service. Great city with friendly people. 😊

I stayed there 5 or 6 years ago. I, like an idiot, left a cash bag containing around £4000 from a church collection when we left and drove on to Bangor, North Wales. I didn't discover this until next morning. I rang the hotel to find that a member of the cleaning staff had handed the bag in immediately. I couldn't be giving away church money, so when I drove straight back to collect the bag, I left the cleaner £50 out of my own pocket. Can't complain about the honesty of the staff. Not the best place to stay, and the breakfast experience was like a cattle market, awful. But some things make up for a lot in other ways.

As for Helen what can I say she is definitely a good match for you, she's not afraid of anything, and I'm sure she's helped you out when you've been low, you make a good pair, bouncing off each other, I particularly liked the blog you did on Bolton, cause that's my home town, the market place was so good years ago, it was full of little proper shops, and then someone came along and ripped the soul out of it and made it into boutiques, anyway don't want to rant, but keep going bigger and stronger,

I've noticed you get crazy numbers on your Liverpool videos. It must make you tempted to revisit more often. I've been to many cities across the UK and it's got to be No.1 for me. It is simply superb.
