They are a rival in the simplest meaning of the word. They played every year and had some intense battles to get the best of each other, each trying to win the WAC/MWC. That's a rival.

@@KyleBarney-b8l That makes sense to some degree. But there can only be one arch-rival.

My brothers and I were there in the northeast corner. The crowd was about 30:70 BYU to Wyoming fans in our section, and they were all very friendly. Not only did I not hear any "F-BYU" chants, but we were joking about a few of the holding calls. I was very impressed by the Wyoming fans and their courtesy.

If we wanna beat Kansas St. next week, Retzlaff is not the guy to do it. Please please please play Bohanon.
@grouchyjudgeАй бұрын
You don't make a change in QB after he throws for almost 300 yards and 3 TDs in a blowout win. Not saying that I don't have issues with his play, because he definitely still does stupid things that blow my mind. But the only thing that will cause a change is if he's consistently playing horrible and the team is losing. He had one bad game, a few iffy moments in the others, but overall hasn't done terrible enough to warrant a change, and the team is winning. If anything, he has shown improvement from last year in general. Besides, what people refuse to remember is that Bohanon lost the starting job at Baylor and did not play great at USF. If you jump the gun by switching to Bohanon, you're probably not gonna get much difference. You'd just end up clamoring for the third-string guy to play, whoever that is.
@Hamnog84Ай бұрын
@@grouchyjudgewe will be lucky to win one league game with Jake. His type of play works against junior college teams and group of 5s. Remember when Gerry was at USF he couldn’t throw the ball because he was injured. Now he’s 100%.

@@grouchyjudgethose three teams were weak. There are misfires and bad passes every drive, it won’t fly against a big-12 team.
@grouchyjudgeАй бұрын
@@Hamnog84 Again, Gerry lost the starting job at Baylor BEFORE USF. It's not like he was lighting it up there either. Their defense and run game won that league title and Sugar Bowl for them. He threw for a grand total of 40 yards in that Sugar Bowl, in fact. You fans act like he singlehandedly carried Baylor to relevance. Again, not like I'm saying Retzlaff is the best QB. I don't even think he's a great QB. But you don't yank him when you're winning. Yank him when he can't win. He's won three straight games as the starter. Wait until he's losing
@grouchyjudgeАй бұрын
@@goaliegrizz8925 SMU is actually still a borderline top 25 team at the moment. Admittedly I don't think that will hold up quite as much as they start ACC play but they do have a solid team. But anything for your agenda, I suppose. Just don't whine if Jake gets benched/hurt and Gerry doesn't cure cancer like BYU fans seem to think he will. I guarantee the second Gerry throws an incompletion you'll be demanding he gets run out of Provo
