This is the most educational video about the FS Family Tree and the background behind it, that I've ever seen. It explains just about everything that I have floundered over for years. I highly recommend that everyone who is researching their genealogy watch this. My thanks to BYU and Jame Tanner.

I can't believe it took me so long to watch this video! I needed this years ago. I learned more than I would've expected. Thank you!

This Video played for 1hr 12min and 47 seconds and for most of that time I sat and listended and nodded. Everything you spoke about, I agreed with and I was amazed that although you don't know me, you know everything about what I have gone through in the past 40 something years of doing my genealogy. Thank you so very much for giving me a reality check and to make sure that, before I leave this God's Earth, I will make sure to drop of every piece of paper I have ever accumulated, to the local LDS.

THX for the video. Know these problems well. Both my wife and I made sure we inherited the "The Boxes". So far, we have worn out two scanners to get this stuff into the computer. When we're teaching people how to do documentation, in teaching our FH class, we use the phrase, "Family histories look nice, but supporting documentation makes it right".

Beneficial for whom the changes that have been made to my grandmother and her birth family has cured me of my desire to research her and her family so who really benefitted?

Even though this is a great introduction to FamilySearch, I disagree with the idea the it isn't a good thing to upload your GEDCOM. I have uploaded my GEDCOM and the most helpful thing I have found is that it creates a list of what I have incorporated and what I haven't. Each record in the GEDCOM is presented and I can decide whether I think it is a duplicate or not so if duplication of records does happen, it is no one's fault but my own.
