I’ve said this before but I’ve always enjoyed watching Astrea play. His Micro of individual units and multi tasking is a ways off Maxpax or Hero. But he is probably the best when it comes to pre positioning Protoss during fights. He always has a wave of units flanking or drawing the opponent into a fight on his terms.

It can't even move while the nova is going. It's like a siege tank that needs to be manually aimed and can only fire once every 27 seconds and it requires a ground path to hit something so it's useless up a cliff and now it doesn't even one shot marauders and landed Vikings.

Kind of crazy that Terran can hold their own for 30+ mins at a constant 2+ base disadvantage against Zerg and Protoss. Mules are just so good because not only do they gather resources faster, they cost zero supply so you can have a bigger army, making you much more efficient in every fight. You get this vicious cycle of: trading better, so you don’t need to rebuild as much, so you don’t need as many bases/workers, so you can have a better army and therefore trade better

There's a recurring problem with terrans having too much 0 supply options. Mules are a 0 supply economic boost. Protoss equivalent for economic boost is only allowing to get higher supply more quickly. It's not only weaker it's also more costly and more limited. Scan is a 0 supply instant maphack. Protoss has observers, it costs 1 supply and production time, and 75 fucking gas. It can be countered while scan cannot. Detection towers are another 0 supply soft maphack. PFs are the best antiground defense and cost 0 supply, can be repaired by as many workers as you want. Protoss pros usually gate their extended base behind more expensive static defense in addition of a spell caster which is still kind of high APM to use. The only thing that costs supply to function in terran perks is the bunker. The only type of defensive unit they use are tanks and liberators. ALl that knowing that protoss drops are far weaker and more expensive than terran drops. Every worthwhile protoss units costs a hell too much supply on top of needing abnormal amount of supply to operate half as effectively as terran. They just nerfed disruptors which cost more supply and more resources only to be a less effective tank this is how bad this is. No really there's a fundamental problem. Now, mules costing supply doesn't make sense, but we could start with having limiting the amount of existing mule to 1 per command center and have mules actually occupy mineral patches they mine. That'd penalize terrans who don't expand and don't use their energy efficiently. Otherwise we could also give protoss the ability to accumulate their chronoboosts on one single building. :>

Each races have their own benefits, toss can teleport, mass stun, chrono, build without wasting time on a worker. Zerg has faster production rate, map hack on creep, cheap detection, queens etc How about we remove all of those and make the game boring because every races will be the reskin of other? Sc1 Terran has no mule, but Zerg has no queen and free creep spread, Toss has no chrono boost and teleport. How about we make sc1 reskin? Terran does have some downside other races don’t. If you wanna stop a building you can just kill the scv. Meanwhile, toss and Zerg have no such problem. Zerg can even save their own worker with that mechanic.

@@clorkmagnus Here your problem is thinking we don't take all this into account. Each races have their own benefits. The problem is toss benefits come with double the downsides. Toss doesn't need an unit to build but also can only do so in energized area, protoss has the crappiest economy and the most expensive units and buildings. 3 downsides for one tiny upside. Toss can teleport units, but only crappy units that are expensive, only in energized areas. 3 downsides again. Terran have expensive buildings if you count the SCV and the addon, but their buildings have better prod than protoss, their buildings can fly, don't need energy to function, and are repairable. But still, to compensate for the expense of using one scv per building, they gave them mules, which overcompensates for that economically and comes with no downside on its own. With terran, every downside comes with multiple upsides. The only moments protoss no worker building things is a strategical benefit is for canon rush, which is not only lame it makes map makers do their best to make it extra difficult to do. On the other side, the only moments sniping scvs who are building something is relevant is during the early blink stalker phase which is really the protoss trying to buy time by taking any scrap they can, because tanks are so fucking good. The time and the micro necessary to get a few stalkers to get any benefit, a marine drop would be 3 times more effective. Sniping a pylone to deactivate 3 or 4 buildings or sniping 8 probs. If protoss can snipe a reactor without losing 800 worth of resource it's christmas.

It's that Vikings shut down all Stargate units + colossi with no counter, while Marauders only die to zealots on the ground...

Disruptor should still 1shot marauders, cyclones, landed Vikings, etc. Ghost EMP still needs a bigger change than just supply but it's a step in the right direction Colossi should have just gotten +50hp, not a trade of hp vs shields. This change actually makes them worse in PvZ. And it costs 300/200 and 6 supply I think it can have 50 more shields. Jeez.

@brandontobias1138 makes a big difference. 20 ghosts now occupy 60 armies instead of 40, which is 50% more. It's a lot. I think the Tempest is also much improved now in terms of micros. I remember many games (I just watch them, never played), where the terran player loks down the map with a lot of liberatorx, the new protos can fight much better with the tempestagainst the libs. I also want to see the new mothership, not against Zerh, because against zerg it is very very very fort3, but against terran 😉

1st game another example on why terran need to be soft roll a bit more or protoss still need a bit more hard roll in the unit power. Sorry, but a terran would be saying the same thing if it was the same position and you can clearly see it during fights that the units protoss has to deal with when they should've just won out right after soo many mistakes on the terran player. If anything, its the vikings that need to have less health. They control the map way too good for a single unit against the fact that Protoss has to play with a tall unit. In some ways, I wish they just remove the colosi and give toss something different. Its just way too hard to balance it seems. That or just reduce the range of the viking. The value of a viking is already crazy for what it is.

Marauders should be removed from the game. I think it was a mistake to give Terran the Marauders. In SC/BW it was always like: bio vs. Zerg and mech vs. Toss. But now with Marauders, there is really no reason for Terra to tech to mech. Marauders should be just removed, so that Terran is forced to build Tanks and mech.

It seems that marines and marauders are too strong and should be slight nerfed. They melt everything toss have. Look at first game. Astrea have more bases, more money, using almost every unit in army and still almost lose after one bio push. They should make that terran must use other units to be efficient. Why they dont use more liberators, battlecruisers, thors, cyclones, hellbats, banshees? Toss needs to use all units except maybe voidrays and carriers to be efficient. Even oracles is needed to stasis some of army or to kill some SCV/drones early game. Or DTs as surprise if you are behind. But i admit, watching this new nova distruptor is better, at least it hits something.

Marines can start moving before their full firing burst animation completes. No other unit in the game has that advantage. I'd love to see that nerfed. Either you don't get to move until burst finishes, or if you do interrupt fire to move, you don't do full damage.

M&M isn't broken. Marines have dozen counters and are only good with their upgrades. It's Medivacs. Medivacs are broken. The combination of very fast healing and instant evacuation means that there is no counter to mass bio if the Terran's micro is sufficient. Bio on the ground without medivacs just dies to its own stimpacks usually

Terran Mech are really slow to move and to build also expensive 1 bad positioning 1 bad fight and the game could be pretty much over either mech needs to build faster or mech have to be buffed btw cruisers and cyclones are situational units against protoss
