Im in a band in charleston where byzantine is from and we have played with them a few times years ago and they are flawless live. OJ is really genuine good dude. Was kind enough to even make a guest appearance on a track we did back in 07. Check out timeless memory if you like metalcore. Loved your reaction to seeing they're from WV. They have always been one of the most under-rated and under appreciated metal bands from 03 to now.

Nice reaction man, I'm also from West Virginia. Bluefield WV, but I didn't know Byzantine existed either. Up until a year ago and I've been hooked ever since. They usually come to Pipestem State Park ( for Metal in the Mountains) which is also in Mercer County like Bluefield. Hoping to see them next time they do. Every time I see the Justinian Code music video I think about my daughter....because I was four months pregnant when we shot it! It was so hot in that room lol. But we had a good time shooting it. It also makes me think about how long ago that was....my daughter is six now. Cheers from Charleston, WV!

Dude, Byzantine is one of the most underrated bands ever! They have a lot more material for you to listen to also, so check them out, you will be glad you did. Everything they have is solid too, from the first album to the last. And when you see them live, they are literally the tightest band you will ever hear, so definitely worth seeing live. The first few albums have a different lead, bass player and drummer. This album (To Release is to Resolve which is one of my favorite albums) that Justinian Code is on, actually has the original drummer on it but he had left just before this video was shot. They don't have this bass player in this video any longer either. They got their start by getting noticed by Randy Blyth from LOG and even toured a short time with them. He helped them get signed to Prosthetic Records as well. These guys slapped way back in the day with the original members and still do to this day with the newest members. And they have new material coming and I'm pretty sure a new album also! But anyhoot, good to meet a fellow West Virginian! I'm from Buffalo Creek near a little town called Man, Wv. If you ever get the chance, read about the Buffalo Creek Flood, it's an interesting read and it's about where I'm from and still live. Hell, holler at me and well get together and see Byzantine when you're home.

Dude, these guys are 100% one of the best metal bands period. The fact that they're from our home state makes it so much cooler. I've seen them quite a few times and they do not disappoint. Ever. Nobody beats the Byz. Nobody.

I just discovered this band today and this song was my introduction, I loved it soo much that I instantly dove into their discography! My next suggestion would be their song called "Jeremiad" (studio version, NOT the music video because it cuts out a chunk of the song). They’re from Charleston I think. Saw them live in a tiny club about 5years ago, touring the eastern seaboard when this song was new… Maybe 100 people? (So almost sold out?! Yet depressingly not) Possibly the Best live band I’ve ever seen. Glad you enjoyed 🤘🎸😎

Saw them opening for Lamb Of God in Harrisonburg, VA around 2002 when they were still selling their self-titled demo before they got signed to Prosthetic Records. Been hooked ever since. I'm always thrilled to see they are releasing new material!
